AEW stars The Dogs (Clark Connors and David Finlay) were the guests on the latest edition of What Happened When. During the conversation, Clark Connors revealed the original name he pitched for the team.
According to Connors, the name he pitched for the team was “Raw Dogs,” but of course, that didn’t pan out. He explained (via Fightful), “When we came over here, we just became the Dogs, but we really pitched the name Raw Dogs, but I think there was an issue with that whole Monday night thing, but it sounds cool because we’re raw fucking dogs. The Dogs is also a sick name.”
The Dogs were recently in action at the Saturday Tailgate Brawl for AEW WrestleDream 2026 over the weekend. They competed in a 12-man tag team match, teaming with The Death Riders against the Bang Bang Gang and The Conglomeration.
Jay White also made his in-ring return with the matchup. The Dogs and the Death Riders picked up the victory.
