Claudio Castagnoli Accepts Open Challenge From Gran Guerrero for CMLL World Heavyweight Title Match

AEW star and Death Riders member Claudio Castagnoli is heading to CMLL for a huge title bout against Gran Guerrero. In a newly revealed video posted by CMLL on social media, Castagnoli announced that he’s going to answer Gran Guerrero’s open challenge for the CMLL World Heavyweight Title.

The matchup will take place at CMLL’s event on Friday, November 28. Claudio says in the clip, directed at Gran Guerrero, “Be careful what you wish for because I just got my visa to accept your challenge for the CMLL World Heavyweight Championship.”

He also said that the Death Riders will be showing up in force at Arena Mexico in Mexico City for the event. He continued, “The Death Riders, myself, Wheeler Yuta, and Daniel Garcia are coming to Arena Mexico. ¡Hasta viernes, hermanito!”

Claudio Castagnoli recently competed in the Casino Gauntlet Match last weekend at AEW Full Gear. Ricochet won the match to become the inaugural AEW National Champion.

Gran Guerrero won the CMLL World Heavyweight Title from Hechicero earlier this month. It looks like Gran Guerrero will have his work cut out for him against Claudio Castagnoli, as the Death Riders will be in their stablemate’s corner for the upcoming event.
