CM Punk and Ken Shamrock are set to appear as panelists on UFC Rivals, a new A&E documentary series focusing on some of the most recognizable rivalries in UFC history.
Before returning to AEW and then WWE, CM Punk competed in UFC and has remained connected to MMA commentary and discussion in recent years. Shamrock, meanwhile, remains one of the most notable crossover names between UFC and professional wrestling history, having competed in both WWE and early UFC events during the 1990s.
The series premieres June 21 and will launch with two back-to-back episodes centered on major feuds that helped shape the UFC brand over the years. Mario Lopez will host the panels featured throughout the series. Punk and Shamrock will join former UFC champions Michael Bisping and Miesha Tate as part of the roundtable conversations.
According to A&E, the show will combine archival fight footage, interviews, and panel discussions to revisit rivalries that had a lasting impact on mixed martial arts and UFC’s rise in popularity.
The premiere episode, airing at 8 p.m. ET/PT, will focus on the rivalry between Chuck Liddell and Tito Ortiz. That will be followed by a second episode at 9 p.m. ET/PT centered around Georges St-Pierre and Matt Serra. The series will also be available on the A&E app and on-demand platforms, as well as via streaming on AETV.com.
