CM Punk & Roman Reigns Get Personal In Main Event Promo On WWE Raw

CM Punk and Roman Reigns took their WrestleMania feud to a personal level in a face-to-face promo segment that ended this week’s WWE Raw. Monday night’s episode closed out with a segment between the two opponents-to-be in which both men took personal shots at each other, culminating in a rather incendiary line from Punk.

The segment featured Punk coming down to the ring and saying that he was feeding Reigns’ ego by coming down to confront him, and said he has to carry Reigns’ grudge against him all the way to April’s PPV. He noted that Indianapolis, the site of tonight’s show, is where Punk brought The Shield to the main roster, and Reigns countered that Punk brought the other two but not him. Punk said he may not have picked Reigns back then, but Reigns picked Punk for WrestleMania. He said that he is in Reigns’ head and has already won, saying he can see right through the OTC.

Reigns countered that if Punk didn’t have the title, Reigns would be indifferent to him and said WWE brought him back to sell merchandise, entertain 30 to 40-year-old virgins, and maybe get a gate in Chicago. He said that Punk being champion was above his pay grade and said Punk lies in his interviews, acting so happy but bitching and moaning backstage. He vowed to put Punk on a retirement tour after beating him so he can go to NXT and teach the next generation.

Punk then said that Reigns is all alone and has no “we.” He said Reigns is in the WrestleMania main event because of him and can’t get it done by himself. He said Reigns will not disrespect or retire him, and that Punk will bury Reigns right next to his father.

You can see highlights from the segment below. Punk and Reigns will face off in the main event of WrestleMania 42, which takes place on April 18th and 19th at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. It airs on ESPN Unlimited in the US and Netflix internationally.
