– During the latest edition of What Do You Wanna Talk About?, WWE Superstar Cody Rhodes recalled a story of his Tables Match with Big Show (aka Paul Wight) for the WWE Intercontinental Title at Extreme Rules 2012. According to Rhodes, the producer for the match, Michael Hayes, didn’t believe Wight and Rhodes’ idea for the finish of the match would work.

The finish of the match saw Cody hit Big Show with a drop kick, who was standing on the apron. The impact caused Big Show to put his foot through the table, allowing Cody to win the match and the title in a shocking finish. Hayes didn’t believe it would ever work.

Cody Rhodes said on the finish (via Fightful), “Big Show told the producer, ‘It’s going to work.’ That producer was dying to tell us we were wrong. When his foot went through the table, his face. I remember him saying, ‘I was wrong. That was great.'”

Cody said on Hayes’ response, “To Michael’s credit, he said, ‘Do it, and I can’t wait to tell you guys it’s wrong.'” He continued, “He was forthcoming afterwards because he’s been right so many times in his career, to take that random shot, and Show’s foot going through the table.”
