Angel gets a cutter, but Daga tags in and low blows Parka while the ref’s back is turned. Los Perros retain!
Winners: Los Perros del Mal (8:47 via pinfall)
Match Rating: **3/4
Pretty basic match here, lots of beating on Iguana. I’m not sure if we were supposed to think that his partners wanted him to suffer or not. Parka losing was a little unexpected, but it’s a low blow and that’s still over here.
Iguana gets kicked out of the ring afterward. Nino gets stomped on the floor, then Karmen slaps and kicks him. I know some people that would pay for that. Big Mami runs down and runs over Karmen! Karmen attacks Mami in the ring, that goes nowhere and Karmen gets slammed. Press slam by Mami. Big splash puts Karmen down in the corner, but Daga gets her out of there before Mami can crush her.
We see a video package building up the feud with Catalina & Las Toxicas, including the issues with Hiedra & Flammer. Marivella tells Flammer & Hiedra to remember the plan, that they’re a team and they’ll stick together.
AAA Reina de Reinas Championship Triple Threat Match: La Catalina (c) vs. Flammer vs. La Hiedra: Lady Marivella is at ringside with Flammer & Hiedra. Catalina is with her hat, it’s fun and I like it. Hiedra & Flammer face off, swing at Catalina who avoids them & dances. Marivella trips Catalina and Hiedra & Flammer take advantage. Catalina gets dropped & stretched out. Then Flammer & Hiedra split her legs with the ringpost. Catalina fights back, sends Hiedra & Flammer into corners & headscissors them over. Flammer sent outside, Catalina suplexes Hiedra and goes up top, but Flammer stops her. Hiedra takes Catalina off the turnbuckle, Flammer hits a Meteora. Hiedra lifts Catalina up on her shoulders, Flammer hits a crossbody. Catalina gets slapped in the corner. Hiedra is sent into a boot, Flammer is sent outside. Hiedra joins her, Catalina goes up top and crossbodies them to the floor. Hiedra misses in the corner, gets her head smashed there, Catalina hits a crossbody for two. Catalina with a bulldog on Hiedra, Flammer gets gory bombed on top of Hiedra for two. Catalina covers Hiedra as well. Knees to Flammer, Flammer & Catalina go back & forth, Hiedra gets knocked to the floor. Flammer hits a basement dropkick on Catalina! Hiedra breaks it up and tries to cover Catalina! They start jaw jacking outside. Flammer misses in the corner. Hiedra is given the Reina de Reinas belt by Marivella. Flammer nearly gets hit, Catalina hits a running knee on Flammer for the three count!
Winner: La Catalina (7:56 via pinfall)
Match Rating: **3/4
Triple threats are a tricky beast these days, everybody’s seen everything and it’s tough to get rid of boring stretches. I thought the action here flowed well enough with the 2 on 1 dynamic giving them reason to stall and tell a story.
Mini Vikingo tells Rey Fenix that he injured his wrist at NXT and will need surgery. Fenix says he’ll do whatever it takes to hold the title long enough to fight him for it. Fenix then says that next week will be an open challenge for his Cruiserweight Championship.
Pimpinela Escarlata is here in the crowd! Nice to see Pimpi back on this show.
We see a video hyping the feud between El Grande Americano & Dominik Mysterio.
AAA Mega Championship Match: El Grande Americano (c) vs. ”Dirty” Dominik Mysterio (w/Dorian Roldan): Quite a long period of silence on commentary after JBL answered Coey’s question on if Dom could win the championship tonight. Dorian hits Americano with a chair after he’s introduced! The ref rings the bell, Dom attacks with a 619 for two. Dom punches away at Americano. Grande fights back until eating a Dom dropkick for two. Dom takes Grande to the corner, delivers a couple of strikes and sends him into some turnbuckles. Grande with some strikes, Dom gets his head sent into the turnbuckle. Grande flips over Dom and hits a clothesline for two. Dom blocks a rollup attempt, Grande comes back with a punch and then some mounted punches in the corner. Omos walks down the entranceway, and that distracts Grande enough for Dom to attack. Dom places Grande on the top rope, then dropkicks him to the floor. Dom chops Grande on the barricade, then sends him flying over the Spanish announce table. Americano eats a double axehandle, then gets rolled back into the ring by Dom. Dom stretches Americano in the middle of the ring, Grande fights out but Dom hits an Edgomatic for two. Dom whips Grande with his t-shirt belt and tosses it out. Grande no-sells some punches, then hits some on Dom. Enziguri and an air raid crash get two on Dom. Yay/Boo punches, Grande faceplants Dom and looks for La Cavernaria! Dom gets out, tries a 619 but Grande blocks. Grande gets DDTed on the apron by Dom. Frog splash gets nothing but knees. Grande with a PK, then he vaults onto the ropes for a Blockbuster. Omos trips Grande while the ref is occupied with Dom. Pimpinela slaps Omos from behind! Omos takes Pimpi over the barricade and threatens a chokeslam on the floor, Grande breaks it up. Grande knocks Dorian off the apron, hits the Aztec headbutt but Omos pulls the referee out of the ring! Omos punches Grande down from outside! Omos grabs the official, but Rey Mysterio is here to stop that! Rey hits Omos with a chair a few times! Dom gets hit with the chair! Grande hits the Aztec headbutt again and gets the three count!
Winner: El Grande Americano (11:54 via pinfall)
Match Rating: ***1/4
Fun little match here with the fairly typical WWE title match finish that the crowd still eats up. If it’s working you don’t have to fix it. The wrestlers seemed winded towards the end here, didn’t take too much away from it.
Grande celebrates in the ring while El Ojo back up the entranceway and Rey looks on from outside. So long for now!
