Corey Graves may be cleared to compete, but he’s not interested in getting himself into “ring shape” as he said in a new interview. Graves recently spoke with The Athletic and you can see some highlights below:

On having ‘no interest in getting into ring shape’: “Three years ago, I might have had a different answer. But I have grown so confident and comfortable in this new role that I’m in, I wouldn’t trade it for the world.”

On his July 2016 debut as a commentator on Raw: “I remember waking up in the morning, and I open my blinds and I looked over at Mount Washington … I wept, I cried. I was like, ‘How wild is my life?’ I never expected to be a commentator, yet my first night on the biggest job I can have is where it all began, at home. It was a really, really sweet feeling.”

On transitioning to commentary after his in-ring retirement: “I thought to myself, man, I dedicated my life to coming to WWE and being a WWE Superstar. That option got taken away because of medical reasons. But I’m still here; I’m not going to let them kick me out, you know what I mean? I’m going to make myself as valuable as possible.”

On the Corey & Carmella YouTube series: “We, of course, still want to … see where it goes and try to grow it. But of course, this is WrestleMania season. So, nothing like launching a new project during the busiest time.”

On getting married next week: “Tuesday morning, I get on a plane and fly to Fort Lauderdale. Because Thursday, we’re getting married. Why try to relax after a busy professional week? Let’s go right into the biggest life event we could possibly have.”
