Csonka’s Impact Xplosion Review 4.21.18

OFFICIAL RESULTS
– Eli Drake defeated Fallah Bahh @ 10:07 via pin [**¾]
From TNA Lockdown 2012: Jeff Hardy defeated Kurt Angle @ 14:55 via pin [***½]
From Impact (4.19.18): Cage defeated KM @ 1:35 via pin [NR]

– Follow all of my reviews at this link.

Eli Drake vs. Fallah Bahh: This was taped a while back, as Adonis is out with Drake. Bahh overpowers Drake to begin. Bahh takes him down again and Drake powders. Bahh slams Drake and Adonis together and Bahh follows with a belly to belly for 2. Drake battles back with a bulldog, but then runs into a backdrop. Bahh crotches Drake up top, and knocks him to the floor. Bahh follows, Adonis distracts him, allowing Drake to chop block out the knee. Bahh manages to fire back and then slam Drake to the steps. Bahh charges, but Drake moves and Bahh runs into the steps. Adonis attacks as Drake takes the ref. Bahh rolls back in but Drake works him over, attacking the knee. Adonis keeps getting involved, allowing Drake to maintain the heat. Bahh fights off the figure four, posting Drake. Bahh follows with a series of chops, and hits a Samoan drop. The corner splash follows. Bah then wipes him out with the running cross body for 2. Bahh looks for the banzai drop, but Drake cuts him off and hits a running elbow strike. Drake looks for the gravy train, Bahh cuts him off and slams him to the buckles. Bahh again looks for the banzai, Drake low blows him as Adonis takes the ref, and Drake slams Bahh off the ropes for the win. Eli Drake defeated Fallah Bahh @ 10:07 via pin [**¾] This was a pretty good match that got mre time than your usual Xplosion match does. There was a bit too many heel shenanigans for my liking, but Drake sold well for Bahh and the crowd was really into Bahh here. It was enjoyable.

– Since this aired before the PPV, we get a big hype package on Redemption 2018. My review of that show is here and my takeaway column is here.

From Lockdown 2012: Jeff Hardy vs. Kurt Angle: They had a very good, but slightly disappointing match. Angle was really showing signs of wear and tear here, and this was when he really started to become a one trick pony or sorts, working suplexes and endless counters to the Angle slam and ankle lock down the stretch. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a very good match, but it just felt like it should have been more. Jeff Hardy defeated Kurt Angle @ 14:55 via pin [***½]

– KM arrives to issue an open challenge. He says he’s an innovator. Today he innovates a one of a kind match, the KM open challenge. He wants guys like Duane Gill, Barry Horowitz, D-Ray 3000, Belvis Wesley, or the Musketeer. Cage answers the challenge. KM tries to talk his way out of this, but Cage refuses to allow him to leave.

Cage vs. KM: Cage attacks and hits a dropkick. He continues to beat his ass and toss him around. Cage hits the dead lift superplex and heads up top. The elbow drop follows and he then hits the rolling lariat. The F5 follows for the win. Cage defeated KM @ 1:35 via pin [NR] Thanks for coming KM.

– End Scene.

– Thanks for reading.

After a few down weeks, Impact Xplosion rebounds with a really solid show, including a better than usual XPLOSION exclusive and a very good throwback with Hardy vs. Angle.
