Former WWE star Joe Hennig (aka Curtis Axel) has reached a plea agreement in his DWI case from earlier this year. As previously reported, Axel was arrested in Anoka County, Minnesota, on May 17th and charged with third-degree driving while impaired, refusing to give a chemical test, obstructing the lawful execution of a legal process, possessing an open bottle of alcohol in the car, and failing to stop after an accident to property that did not involve any injuries.

Fightful reports that Axel entered a guilty plea as part of a plea agreement on August 24th to misdemeanor charges of DWI and disorderly conduct. The charges related to refusing to give a chemical testing and interfering with a peace officer were dismissed as a result.

Axel was given a 90 day sentence, with 87 of the days being stayed and three credited for time served. He completed a required comprehensive assessment and attended a MADD (Mother Against Drunk Driving) Impact Panel, and owes a $50 fine within 90 days from the agreement.

As part of the agreement, Axel will be under supervised probation over the next year, which could potentially become unsupervised after five months. He must avoid violating any laws and show good behavior while having no alcohol or drug-related offenses or assaultive/violent/disorderly/threatening behavior. As long as he does so, he will not serve additional jail time.

Curtis Axel exited WWE in April 2020 as part of the company’s COVID-related cuts. He returned for a three-month stint as a producer in April of 2022.
