Darby Allin survived a war with Kyle Fletcher to keep his AEW TNT Championship reign intact on Tuesday’s AEW Grand Slam France. Tonight’s special episode of Dynamite featured Fletcher challenging Allin for the championship that he used to hold, a battle that lasted nearly 16 minutes.
Fletcher controlled the early moments in the match, winning a striking battle and catching him as he tried to leap onto him on the outside to throw him into the barricade. Fletcher went to do it again but Allin escaped and bit Fletcher in the forehead.
The match continued back and forth, with Allin taking a bad landing from a backdrop onto the French announce table. The high spots continued throughout the match until Allin locked in a Scorpion Deathlock. Fletcher got to the ropes but Allin hit a couple of Coffin Drops to get the win and retain his title.
