Dragon Lee is out of action, dealing with a collateral ligament tear that will keep him off tonight’s AAA Verano de Escándalo taping. The WWE star posted to his Instagram stories on Friday to share a pic of his thumb showing a deep bruise. He posted a follow-up video on Saturday morning explaining he can’t wrestle and will not compete at tonight’s taping.
“I wanted to tell you all about what happened today,” Lee said (h/t to Fightful’s Luis Pulido for the translation). “I was already on the plane, about to take off for Aguascalientes. I want to apologize to everyone, since I won’t be able to make it to Aguascalientes because this Monday on Raw, I’m not sure exactly when or how, I sprained my finger.”
He continued, “I’ve already had some X-rays and an MRI, and it turns out I have a collateral ligament tear. I can’t wrestle, and they told me to go home.”
Lee was scheduled to face compete in a match against La Parka and Mecha Wolf to qualify for the Fatal Four-Way Match for the vacant AAA Latin American Championship. AAA has not announced a replacement for Lee at this time.
On behalf of 411, our best wishes to Dragon Lee for a quick and full recovery.
