Drew McIntyre recently looked back at his nastiest Claymores and recalled once hitting Samoa Joe with a stiff one. The former WWE Champion appeared on the No-Contest Wrestling Podcast and during the conversation he was asked about his most vicious Claymores. He recalled how he hit Joe with a Claymore during a Royal Rumble match and that Joe addressed it after.

McIntyre also shared his least favorite move to take, naming Kane’s particular brand of the chokeslam. You can see highlights below:

On His Nastiest Claymore He Ever Delivered:

“Yeah, there’s a couple. I mean, most of the time everybody walks away with all their teeth intact, unlike Jacob Fatu or Bleeding Gums Fatu as a nickname. But yeah, I caught Samoa Joe real bad one time in a Royal Rumble. And to be fair, like he didn’t say anything. He’s like a man’s man. He just pulled me aside and let me know, ‘Hey, brother, you really caught me bad.’ I felt so guilty because Joe’s my boy. He’s my brother. There are a few guys I’ve caught real hard that I didn’t feel so guilty about, but most of the time people were good. But I felt really bad about the one to Joe.”

“I’ve caught Sheamus hard as hell a million times, but he actually enjoys it. I think he gains power the harder you hit.”

On the Move He Most Hated Taking:

“Chokeslam, from Kane, chokeslam from Kane. Yeah, horrible. I don’t know the difference between Kane’s chokeslam, The Undertaker’s chokeslam, Big Show’s chokeslam, and all the chokeslams I’ve taken in my life. But every time Kane did it to me [it was bad]. To be fair, that time when I was wrestling him I was 24, I was IC Champion, I was a bit clueless, I was still finding my way. I was probably irritating as hell, I got a lot better with him years later. But so maybe he was just trying to put me through the ring, I don’t know. But he’s very big, very strong, and that chokeslam hurt like hell.”

McIntyre will battle Cody Rhodes for the WWE Undisputed Championship at Saturday Night’s Main Event on Saturday night. The show airs live on Peacock.
