Enzo Amore has taken to social media to provide some clarity on comments he made about AEW in a newly-released interview with Maven. The WWE alumnus appeared in the video that Maven released on Monday, in which he talks about some of his most controversial moments.
The interview features Amore taking a shot at AEW, saying (per Fightful):
“If I fist-fought another guy in the locker room, you probably never heard of it because I probably f**king won, right? I appreciate that. What happens in the WWE locker room, as far as fistfights, never left. F**k AEW for all the bitch ass fighting that they do over there and letting it leak and s**t. It wasn’t that way when I was [in WWE]. We are some bad asses that you got to keep some credibility in that locker room.”
Amore posted to Twitter on Monday afternoon to clarify the context arround the comments, writing:
“I talked to Maven in March of 2025.
He waited to come off the heels of a beautiful tribute show for PAC to post the interview.
I thought the tribute show was absolute class. Everyone who paid tribute, thank you for honoring Ben.
I’m still grieving, Maven is clearly not.”
Maven had acknowledged as such, writing in a pinned comment on the YouTube video right after it released:
“Hey guys. We filmed this video with Enzo back in May 2025. Originally, we had him react to the infamous Simon Gotch interview in which Simon buried Enzo. However, after we finished filming, Enzo texted me and asked us to cut that part.
Without that reaction, we decided not to release it. However, after I shared the story in another video, many of you asked us to release whatever we could. Since last Friday’s video was shorter, we figured, why not? Hope you guys enjoy.”
