Eric Bischoff Skeptical Of Chris Dunn’s Claims Of nWo Reboot In 2020

Eric Bischoff doesn’t think much of claims by Chris Dunn that there was a plan to reboot the nWo in the COVID lockdown era. As reported earlier this week, Dunn told a story on the Public Enemies Podcast about how an nWo revival was discussed during the Thunderdome era, noting that it was “really tough to do TV in there, so a lot of ideas were thrown against the wall.”

Dunn said that the pitch was for Sheamus, Cesaro, Shinsuke Nakamura, and Lars Sullivan to constitute a revived nWo group, and it was “really close to happening.” He added that one of the “legendary nWo member(s)” was supposed to introduce the group, but they didn’t pass the COVID test, and it didn’t happen.

Bischoff was asked about the matter on 83 Weeks and dismissed the notion, noting that neither he nor Sean Waltman, nor Kevin Nash had heard anything about it.

“You know it’s funny, I had a couple people that — well, one in particular. Sean Walman reached out to me and said, ‘Hey, did you ever hear anything about this?’ I said, ‘No, I never heard anything about that.’ And neither did Kevin Nash apparently, according to Sean Waltman. So you know, the three surviving members of the nWo knew nothing about it. So obviously, we weren’t involved in it. Which makes me think maybe there’s something lost in translation along the way here.”

He continued, “I don’t know, but it seems very unlikely for a lot of reasons. Yeah, it could be just silly internet stupid s**t.”

Beyond the three Bischoff mentioned, Scott Hall and Hulk Hogan were both core members of the original nWo and were alive at that time. Of course, the nWo had literally dozens of members from the WCW era, though many of those would not likely have been considered “legendary” members.
