– During a recent edition of the Wrestling With Freddie podcast, actor and former WWE writer Freddie Prinze Jr. shared some criticism of AEW booking of certain talents, including Darby Allin, Jay Lethal, and Ricky Starks. Below are some highlights (via WrestlingInc.com):

Freddie Prinze Jr. on Darby Allin’s promos not matching his look: “I have never talked about this wrestler on the podcast, which is Darby Allin. He’s got like a cool look. The promos, to me, don’t match the look and don’t match the wrestling style. So, that’s always been a disconnect for me.”

Prinze on Jay Lethal: “I don’t know what they’re doing with this guy ’cause he’s money on the microphone, so they gave him a manager. Doesn’t make sense to me. He’s money in the ring, so he never wrestles in like a legit match, although this was legit ’cause Darby is one of the guys they’ve been building on.”

Prinze on AEW dropping the ball on Ricky Starks: “Like Ricky Starks, I don’t know why they aren’t pushing these guys as singles and pushing them seriously. Both guys can wrestle, both guys are good on the microphone, and both guys have zero direction in the company.”

Darby Allin is set for action this weekend at AEW Full Gear 2022. He’ll team with Sting against Jeff Jarrett and Jay Lethal. The event will be held on Saturday, November 19 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.
