Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Semi-Final Match- Finn Balor and Samoa Joe vs. Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder
Joe and Dash start. Joe fires away to start and he charges in the corner but misses. Tag to Dawson and they double team Joe in the corner. Dawson works over Joe and Dash tags in. Joe catches him with an enzuigiri and Dawson tags in along with Balor. Running corner chops by Balor and he knocks Dawson out of the ring with a dropkick. Summersault plancha to the floor by Balor!!! Back in, Balor hits a shotgun dropkick and he goes up. Balor comes down to avoid a charging Dash and it allows Dawson to clip him. Tag to Dash and he works the leg of Balor. Dawson and Dash take turns working over the leg of Balor and Dawson grabs a half crab. Balor makes the ropes to break and he blocks a Figure-4 attempt. Dash pulls Joe off the apron to prevent the tag and as the ref deals with a pissed off Joe, Dash and Dawson hit a backbreaker/elbow drop combo for 2. Dawson charges in the corner but misses and hits the corner shoulder first. Tag to Dash and he again prevent the tag to Joe. Balor is able to figjht out of his clutches and tag Joe. Inverted atomic drop/sick kick/back senton combo by Joe. Snap powerslam gets 2. Urinage by Joe and he puts Dash on top. Tag to Balor and Joe hits the Muscle Buster into the Coup De Grace by Balor for 3!!!
Winners- Finn Balor and Samoa Joe ***1/4 (Solid tag match to kick off the show. They worked a really good tag match that was built around prevent Joe from getting a tag and wrecking havoc and once Balor finally escape their clutches, Joe took care of business quickly. They set up some good stories for later in the evening with the Balor leg injury and Joe questioning Balor wanting to win with the Coup De Grace despite his injured leg. )

Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Semi-Final Match- Jason Jordan and Chad Gable vs. Rhyno and Baron Corbin
Jordan and Corbin start. Corbin overpowers Jordan to start and Rhyno tags in. Inverted faceplant by Jordan and Gable tags in. Sunset flip gets 1 and Rhyno overpowers him to come back. Tag to Jordan and he begins to work the arm of Rhyno. Tag to Gable and they hit a double Northern lights suplex for 2. Gable grabs a cross arm breaker in the ropes and Rhyno knocks him off the apron to come back. Corbin rams him into the apron a few times and back in, he gets 2. Tag to Rhyno and he grabs a chin lock. Tag to Corbin and he grabs a half nelson. Gable begins to fight out so Corbin brings him down by the hair and hits a big boot for 2. Tag to Rhyno and he slams Gable. Rhyno goes up and misses a flying splash off the top. Tag to Jordan and he cleans house. Saito suplex on Corbin and Gable tags in. Corbin catches him with Black Hole Slam for 2 as Jordan saves. Belly to belly suplex by Rhyno to Jordan and Gable catches Corbin with the Chaos Theory for 2 as Rhyno saves!!! Gore by Rhyno to Jordan and Corbin catches Gable with End of Days for 3.
Winners- Rhyno and Baron Corbin *** (Another solid match. Jordan and Gable are literally the new age version of the World’s Greatest Tag Team and they have the makings of a great tag team. They gave Gable and Jordan their moments but Corbin and Rhyno looked like the destructive force they were set up to be. Both matches set up the finals of the tournament perfectly. )

Dana Brooke w/Emma vs. Asuka
Asuka works a hammerlock to start but Brooke elbows out of it. She mocks Asuka and slaps her, so Asuka fires back. Hip check by Asuka and she mocks Brooke!!! Asuka takes her down into an arm bar but Brooke goes to the floor to escape. Asuka throws some kicks and Emma traps her legs in the apron, allowing Brooke to snap her neck off the ropes. Brooke works over Asuka in the corner and she hits a short arm clothesline. Body scissors by Brooke but Asuka counters into the grapevine. Ankle Lock by Asuka and he converts it into a release German suplex. Cross arm breaker by Akusa and she turns that into the Crossface Chickenwing. High kick by Asuka and she knocks Emma off the apron. Basement dropkick by Asuka and she catches Dana in the Asuka Lock. Brooke taps!!! Brooke tries to attack after the match so Asuka makes her eat a spin kick.
Winner- Asuka ** ( In one match, Asuka looks like the class of the divison. Her transitions and submission skills are as good as anyone on the roster, man or woman. An awesome debut for Asuka and the NXT Diva’s division looks to be in good hands with her around to replace the departed Banks, Charlotte, and Lynch. )

Vignette for Nia Jax airs. She debuts next week.

Tyler Breeze vs. Apollo Crews
Dropkick by Crews and Breeze bails. Crews trucks Breeze and back in, he hits a delayed suplex for 2. Breeze rolls Crews to the floor and he shoves Crews into the apron. Back in, Breeze sends Crews hard into the corner for 2 and he grabs a chin lock, driving his knee into the back of Crews. Crews starts to fight out so Breeze hits the Back Stabber for 2. Breeze goes up but Crews tries to press him down. Breeze escapes and he catches Crews in the Sharpshooter. Crews makes the ropes to break. Hurricanrana by Breeze and he hammers Crews on the mat. Enzuigiri by Crews and both men are down. Super kick by Breeze gets 2. Springboard dropkick knocks Crews back into the ring and Breeze goes up. He leaps but Crews powerslams him on the way down for 2. Crews presses Breeze and goes for the standing moonsault but eats knees. Small package by Breeze gets 2!!! Corner forearms by Breeze but Crews comes back with a big boot. Blue Thunder Bomb by Crews gets 3.
Winner- Apollo Crews ***1/4 (Pretty good match, as Breeze made for Crews’ toughest outing yet. Breeze’s experience as one of NXT’s longest tenured roster members made for him a believable force against Crews but Crew’s natural strength was even too much for the NXT veteran to handle. )

Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Finals- Baron Corbin and Rhyno vs. Samoa Joe and Finn Balor
Balor and Rhyno start. Roll-up by Balor gets 1. Tag to Corbin and Balor hits a dropkick. Tag to Joe and he throws some jabs at Corbin. Snap mare and Joe hits a chop to the back/kick to the chest/knee drop combo for 1. Forearms by Joe but Corbin comes back with the Gallows Pole for 2. Corbin hammers Joe on the mat and Rhyno tags in. He works over Joe in the corner and hits a belly to belly suplex for 2. Chin lock by Rhyno and he chokes Joe in the ropes when he attempts to fight out. Tag to Corbin and he hits some avalanches in the corner. Big boot by Corbin gets 2. Joe comes back with an enzuigiri and Balor tags in. He leaps off of Corbin’s back into a shotgun dropkick on Rhyno!!! Balor charges in the corner but eats boot. He catches Corbin with an enzuigiri as he goes up but Rhyno chop blocks him on the apron to regain control for his team. Corbin wraps Balor’s leg off the post a few times and he works the leg of Balor back in. Black Hole Slam by Corbin gets 2. Balor comes back with the Slingblade and Joe tags in. Inverted atomic drop/big boot/back senton combo by Joe and he hits the Urinage on Rhyno. ST Joe on Corbin but he walks into the Gore from Rhyno for 2 as Balor saves!!! DDT to Corbin and Balor clotheslines him to the floor. PK kick from the apron by Balor but Rhyno knocks him off. Joe blocks the Gore and he puts Rhyno on top. Muscle Buster by Joe and Balor tags in. Coup De Grace by Balor gets 3!!!
Winners of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic- Samoa Joe and Finn Balor ***1/2 (Great tag match. They kept it short to play off the effects of both team’s earlier matches and they both work a hot and heavy pace that didn’t overkill on near falls and that same awesome finish combo from Joe and Balor got the job done. This Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic was a rousing success and I hope this becomes a yearly tradition in NXT. )

The Rhodes family present Joe and Balor with the trophy after the match. Cody Rhodes quotes Dusty Rhodes’ hero John Wayne and declares everyone tonight are Rhodes. Dusty and Cody raise the hands of the tournament winners.

Ironman Match for the NXT Women’s Championship- Bayley © vs. Sasha Banks
This is a thirty minute ironman match. Battle for control to start and Banks overpowers Bayley to get the early advantage. Bayley comes back with some quick near falls and we reach a stalemate. They trade roll-ups for some near falls and Banks ends that with a dropkick. Bayley begins to target the arm of Banks but Banks comes back with a tilt-a-whirl head scissors. Arm drag off the top by Banks and Bayley blocks the Back Stabber. Banks pulls Bayley down by the hair by drawing her in with a hug for 2. Basement clothesline and a dropkick by Bayley and Banks rolls to the floor. Baseball slides by Bayley and back in, she catches Banks with a bulldog for 2. Banks rolls up Bayley for 1 as the ref catches her using the ropes. She pokes the eye of Bayley and rolls her up for 3!!! Banks 1-0.

Bayley and Banks trade blows and Banks puts Bayley on the second rope. Bayley blocks the double knees and hits snake eyes in the corner. Hard forearm by Banks but Bayley catches her with Bayley to Belly for 3. Tied 1-1.

Bayley goes for another baseball slide but Banks blocks and swings her into the steps!!! Back in, Banks covers for 2 and she dumps Bayley back to the floor. Banks sends Bayley into the steps a few times and back in, she covers for 2. Banks dumps Bayley to the floor and she tosses Bayley into the led board!!! Banks takes the time to STEAL A LITTLE GIRL’S HAIRPIECE AND WALK AROUND THE RING WITH IT!!!! SHE MADE HER CRY!!!!! Bayley is counted out during this incredible moment. 2-1 Banks.

Bayley makes it back in before getting counted out again and Banks pulls her into a back breaker. Walls of Jericho by Banks but Bayley makes the ropes to break. Bayley catches Banks with a hurricanrana for 3!!! Tied 2-2.

Banks puts Bayley in the ropes and she misses the double knees again. Bayley cleans house and she takes Banks down by the hair for 2. Bayley with some corner back elbows and she goes up. Second rope back elbow by Bayley gets 2. Bayley puts Banks in the tree of woe and she hits an elbow drop for 2. Bayley puts Banks on top and follows up but Banks is able to pull her into the tree of woe. She FINALLY connects with the double knees for 2. Banks puts Bayley in the tree of woe again and charges but misses and hits the post shoulder first. Slingshot baseball slide by Bayley and she slams Banks’ arm off the steps. Bayley covers for 2 and she snaps Banks’ arm off the ropes. Bayley runs the steps and takes out Banks with a clothesline on the floor!!! Banks goes for the suicide dive but BAYLEY BLOCKS AND HITS BAYLEY TO BELLY ON THE FLOOR!!!! Back in, Bayley gets 2!!! Bayley puts Banks on top and she takes her down with a super Bayley to Belly for 3!!!! BUT WAIT, Banks ended up with a foot on the ropes so no pin fall. Bayley puts Banks on top and she goes for the reverse Frankensteiner but BANKS LANDS ON HER FEET AND HITS BAYLEY TO BELLY FOR 2!!!! Banks Statement by Banks and she holds on even as Bayley tries to hold on. BANKS STOMPS ON THE ARM OF BAYLEY AS SHE REACHES THE ROPES. BAYLEY SLAMS BANKS’ BAD ARM ON THE MAT TO BREAK!!!! BAYLEY COUNTERS THE BANKS STATEMENT INTO THE RINGS OF SATURN!!! SHE STOMPS ON THE HEAD OF BANKS AND BANKS TAPS!!!! Holy crap!!!!!
Winner and Still NXT Women’s Champion- Bayley ***** ( I couldn’t find anything wrong with this match. I tried to nitpick about a couple of rough spots but honestly, I can’t bring myself to do it. This was special. Every pin fall was timed perfectly, their manurisms and expressions throughout the match were superb, and final portion of the match after Bayley tied it up the second time was possibly the best back and forth battle I have seen this year. These girls somehow keep topping themselves and I will say without question the best women’s match in WWE history and one of the best matches of the year. )

The entire roster comes out on stage to congradule both of them as William Regal and Triple H present both of them with flowers. Unbelievable.

This looked like it was going to be the weakest NXT Takeover show to date but you can never doubt the quality of these shows. Another spectacular outing for NXT, with the Dusty Rhodes Classic providing a collection of fun matches and helping lay the ground work for the eventual Balor/Joe showdown in the coming months. With some turnover on the roster, this show did a great job transitioning to the new faces of the brand as now Crews, Asuka, and Bayley are set to takeover where people like Kevin Owens and Sasha Banks left off. The Bayley/Banks main event is a classic and represents everything that the so called "Diva's Revolution" on the main roster should be. It will go down as a historic moment for women's wrestling in the WWE and everyone involved in that match should be proud. This is yet another can't miss NXT show and you owe it to yourself to watch that main event.
