Full Details On The Arrest Of Missy Hyatt

April 21, 2015 | Posted by Joseph Lee

Full details have been revealed about Melissa “Missy Hyatt” Hiatt’s arrest last month for grand theft. She turned herself in on March 26 in Tallahassee, Florida after learning of the charges. She claims that the charges were made because of a civil war reenactment jacket getting lost in her car. Hiatt takes part in reenactment events often. She said in an email that another woman left the jacket in a rental car she returned and she wasn’t aware of it.

When Hiatt was asked about the jacket, she said she didn’t have it and the woman went to police claiming it was worth $10,000. This led to the grand theft charges. Hiatt claims she found the same type of jacket on ebay for less than $200. She said that the woman has no proof, receipt or an item on her homeowner’s insurance proving the jacket’s worth. She turned herself in, got processed and released three hours later. She is waiting to see if the DA will drop the charges because of a lack of evidence.

She said: “When this goes to court, it will be laughed at/thrown out/or bumped down to a civil matter. There is a moral to the story, do not accidently leave stuff in any vehicle that I’m turning in. Do not leave anything with me. Failure to do so will result in me being arrested. That’s why I’m mailing back a 7 disc Terry Funk DVD set that somebody loaned me. I just can’t take the risk of being detained about it.
