Gabe Kidd says he doesn’t pay attention to AEW, but that with Forbidden Door coming up he might start taking a look. The NJPW star spoke with WRESTHINGS for a new interview and talked about potentially appearing in the lead-up to AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door, noting he doesn’t normally give AEW or WWE much attention.
“Nobody’s got more fighting spirit than me,” Kidd said (per Fightful). “That’s what it’s about. It’s about constant improvement and not getting caught up in shit. I don’t care what’s going on in WWE or AEW right now because I’m not there.”
He continued, “Maybe I’ll start looking at AEW because Forbidden Door is coming up, but I’ll slap a few of them around and then I’ll see if I want to do it full-time. It’s a big commitment. So if I enjoy it, maybe I’ll go there. But if not, then I’ll stick around and enjoy beating up Japanese people some more.”
Kidd also said in the interview that he would like to “open the real Forbidden Door” and face Randy Orton or The Rock in NJPW.
