Gail Kim Re-Addresses Claim About Her Communications With AEW: ‘I Have the Proof’

Gail Kim has reiterated that she never reached out to AEW about work, noting that she has the proof to the contrary. As reported last month, Kim pushed back against a report by BJ Bethel who alleged that Kim at one point reached out to “several people” at AEW but never heard back. Kim had said at the time that she received a text from AEW when she was terminated from TNA from Sonjay Dutt about possibly wrestling for AEW, noting that she turned it down as she’s retired. Kim made an appearance on Massive Heat recently and was asked about the matter, calling the original report a lie and saying that she has proof backing her up.

“For you to blatantly lie like that,” Kim said (h/t to Fightful). “I would love to see the proof. Bring the proof. I have the proof of the text exchange that I had when I got fired from TNA, with AEW contacting me. It was very brief. A quick text from Sonjay (Dutt) just asking me if I was thinking about wrestling. I said, ‘I’m retired.’”

She added, “I wasn’t interested in that. I’m retired. Why lie? It’s mind-blowing to me.”

Kim’s final match was in 2023 for TNA. She was let go by the company in March of this year.
