Goldberg Discusses His Early Relationship with Triple H

Bill Goldberg’s transition from WCW to WWE wasn’t the smoothest. If you were reading the wrestling news & opinion websites back in 2002 like I was, you remember there being a lot of tension & angst over how Goldberg was presented on WWE Raw. Something wasn’t quite right. Goldberg kind of felt like a square peg being pushed into a round hole.

A lot of it was attributed to feelings that Triple H had towards Goldberg. A lot of things were attributed to Triple H’s feelings back in those days, and that hasn’t changed decades later. Feelings between Goldberg & Triple H have changed, and Goldberg says they get along much better now. He talked about it during an interview with Going Ringside:

“Oh, it was it was different at the time because he and I couldn’t stand each other really. And we were both represented by the same agent and we had had a confrontation prior to me going to the WWE and then oh by the way, he was married to Vince McMahon’s daughter. So, I mean, it was kind of like me walking into an unwinnable situation. But I think business prevailed and truthfully at the end of the day he’s a good guy.”
