The Last Time WAS now. For the first time in his career, the GOAT, John Cena, gave up. The stage was set for tonight’s WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event, with The Ring General facing John Cena in the last match of Cena’s historic career.

It was a grueling battle, where both men gave it their all. Cena scored multiple Attitude Adjustments, including one on the broadcast table, and an Avalanche variation. However, the resilient Gunther kicked out each time.

Gunther was relentless in his application of the Sleeper Hold, applying it to John Cena multiple times. Cena was able to escape and score one more desperation Attitude Adjustment, but Gunther kicked out again.

Gunther continued applying the Sleeper Hold and tried all his might, but Cena could not escape. With nothing else left in the tank, Cena tapped out, giving up for the first time in his career. It took none other than Gunther to make John Cena give up.

Maybe this reinforces why it’s time for Cena to hang it up, as his motto was “Never Give Up.” Unfortunately, his submission defeat truly means this is all over. The crowd was in utter disbelief after the match, chanting curses and absolutely stunned that the valiant Cena was defeated by submission in his last match.

This marks another major win for Gunther in the retirement of a legendary wrestling Superstar. Earlier this year, Gunther defeated WWE Hall of Famer Bill Goldberg in Goldberg’s last match, also at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event.
