New Japan Pro-Wrestling held NJPW Power Struggle in Hiroshima earlier today, setting up multiple bouts for January’s annual Tokyo Dome event, Wrestle Kingdom 21. The card will feature multiple AEW versus NJPW bouts, with Gabe Kidd, Jon Moxley, and the Death Riders declaring all-out war against New Japan.

Also, MJF appeared in a video at Power Struggle (see below), challenging G1 Climax 36 winner Ryohei Oiwa to a match at Wrestle Kingdom 21. Oiwa accepted the challenge, making the bout official.

Former AEW World Champion Kenny Omega also won a huge non-title Triple Threat bout against reigning IWGP Heavyweight Champion Yota Tsuji and Oleg Boltin. As a result, Omega effectively clinched a title shot against Tsuji, and Omega challenged the champion to a bout at Wrestle Kingdom 21. Tsuji’s answer is still “pending,” per New Japan, but that appears to be a formality at this point.

Elsewhere, YOH, Hyo, and Shota Umino beat House of Torture. A mystery man then appeared onscreen challenging YOH for the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Title at Wrestle Kingdom 21, with YOH’s career on the line. The mystery man was revealed to be SHO. YOH retaliated against SHO’s attack and accepted his terms, but he added his own stipulation.

If YOH wins, SHO must reunite with him as Roppongi 3K. So, the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Title bout is now official for Wrestle Kingdom 21, with the former tag team partners turned bitter rivals facing off.

Additionally, after the Death Riders’ Jon Moxley and Wheeler Yuta lost to Unbound Co.’s Shingo Takagi and Jeff Cobb, Takagi challenged Jon Moxley to a bout at Wrestle Kingdom 21 as well.

The duo of United Empire’s Will Ospreay and Callum Newman broke down after they failed to win the IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Titles from the Knock Out Brothers. A brawl erupted between the two men, and Callum Newman challenged his former friend and mentor to a bout at Wrestle Kingdom 21.

After the main event, IWGP Global Heavyweight Champion Gabe Kidd attacked New Japan President Hiroshi Tanahashi, drawing out Yuya Uemura for the save. This drew out Jon Moxley, who joined Kidd in the brawl. Shingo Takagi then came out, and a wild brawl ensued. A future title bout between Kidd and Uemura at Wrestle Kingdom now appears to be “on the horizon.”

The Wrestle Kingdom 21 Card Takes Shape for January at the Tokyo Dome
