The new docuseries Hulk Hogan: Real American features backstage footage of WWE’s 10-bell salutes to the late icon after his passing in July 2025. As you now, the WWE icon passed away on July 24th of last year. WWE honored Hogan with a 10-bell salute before every show for the week that followed.
The docuseries features footage of WWE CCO Triple H discussing the plan to honor Hogan on the July 25th episode of WWE Smackdown. Triple H talks with producers and talent about the matter and addresses Hogan’s passing, while explaining their plans.
Hogan was famously controversial for a number of reasons, pehaps most notably the racist comments he had made on video, and Tripl H told the crew that they were not required to be on the stage for the salute. You can see highlights below, per Fightful”
Triple H On Hogan’s Passing:
“Unfortunate passing of Hulk Hogan, yesterday. Hard to say that there is a more influential figure, especially on the performing side. No one is perfect in life, and they have ups and downs, but we’re going to continue to remember Hulk Hogan as what he meant to this industry. His influence cannot be denied and cannot be overstated. You can make an argument that we probably wouldn’t be sitting here today. This business might have gone the way of roller derby or some other s**t that didn’t quite make it to the end, but here we are.”
On the 10-Bell Salute:
“We’re going to start this show off tonight with a ten-bell salute with everybody on stage. I don’t think it needs to be said, but anybody that has an issue and does not want to be on stage, no problem, no issue, no anything.”
The docuseries, which is four episodes, is available to stream on Netflix.
