As previously reported, Swerve Strickland debuted a new group on AEW Dynamite, which included Parker Boudreaux and a mystery man, who then attacked Keith Lee. The mystery man, with face tattoos and braids, is former minor league baseball player Granden Goetzman.
Goetzman has been training for a while at Jay Lethal’s school for his AEW debut. The debut has been planned for at least a couple of weeks, and Goetzman was backstage at the October 10 Dynamite. It was noted he’s been with the company for a while as he got ready to join the roster.
Goetzman was a second round pick for the Tampa Bay Rays in 2011. He played until last year, when he played in Mexico. He made it all the way to the AAA league before going to the St. Lous Cardinals and Houston Astros farm systems until 2019. He played outfield and was known for his speed, but didn’t get to the MLB.
