According to a report from BodySlam+, WWE Superstar and former United States Champion Jacob Fatu is injured, and the issue could keep him out of action until later next year. Fatu reportedly has a non-wrestling-related injury that could keep him away from the ring until “well into 2026.”

Jacob Fatu recently returned to WWE programming last month, appearing on Friday Night SmackDown to kickstart a program with Drew McIntyre. Fatu had been off WWE TV since August. It was also later rumored that WWE was planning to book Fatu and McIntyre in a No. 1 Contenders match for WWE Champion Cody Rhodes at the next edition of WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event on November 1 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

BodySlam+ notes that the major creative plans WWE had in motion for Fatu have been paused due to his injury. Specifics surrounding the injury are currently being kept private. However, the outlet’s sources indicate that the issue is serious enough that WWE will have to halt all of the company’s plans for Fatu for the time being.

2025 has been a banner year for Fatu. He won the WWE United States Title from LA Knight at WrestleMania 41 in April. He then turned babyface and feuded with his former Bloodline stablemate Jacob Fatu. As noted above, he looked to be poised for a major feud with Drew McIntyre. However, his medical issue looks to be a major setback.

Jacob Fatu last wrestled in a Dark Match at the September 12 edition of WWE SmackDown. He defeated Rusev in a Street Fight at the event.
