Jake Roberts Clarifies He Is Not Under Contract With WWE

Jake Roberts has clarified his current relationship with WWE after announcing he has re-signed with the company. The WWE Hall of Famer revealed he is not under contract and only works with WWE in a limited capacity.

On October 31, Roberts said he had “re-signed with WWE,” and was “doing some stuff” for the company. However, the 71-year-old has since explained that his current WWE work mainly involves signing autographs and making occasional appearances, as he did at SummerSlam. Roberts added that he enjoys meeting fans, signing memorabilia, and taking pictures at events, but he isn’t under contract. (via Fightful)

“Hey, Jake The Snake Roberts here. I got something I need to talk to you about… First thing is, I did a promo, talked to a fella and had a great time being interviewed by him. I talked about going back to work for the WWE. Yeah, in some capacity. That capacity is real simple — signing autographs. Yeah, I went to SummerSlam and signed some autographs. I do some Topps cards here and there. I enjoy doing it, just like coming out and seeing you guys, signing autographs for you and taking pictures. That’s all there is. I’m not under contract by no way, no means.”

Roberts is a WWE Hall of Famer and one of the company’s most recognizable performers. He also spent several years with All Elite Wrestling, working on and off between 2019 and 2026, primarily in a non-wrestling role.
