Jazmyn Nyx shared new details on her WWE exit and why she decided not to re-sign with the company in a new interview. As reported, Nyx exited WWE in late September after she and the company failed to come to agreement on a new deal. Reports stated that Nyx decided not to accept WWE’s new offer because they would not budge on the amount, which was the same as her previous contract.

Nyx confirmed those details in an appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show. She spoke to Helwani about her contract talks and more, noting that there’s no bad blood an they simply couldn’t come to terms. You can see highlights below:

On Her WWE Exit:

“Yeah I mean, I truthfully can say I was not expecting to leave. I wholeheartedly felt like this was going to be my life. I was ready to put in the work and see where my journey took me. But it came down to like making a living. And everyone needs to make a living. and some people’s living looks different than others. And for me it was like, after my three years and being on TV for two years, I expected there to be some sort of compensation just for the work that I put in.

“And it didn’t end up that way, and that’s okay. And you know, that’s why I had to part ways. But it was no like bad blood or anything. It was just ‘Okay, I can’t make a living on this. And I value myself in this way, which you guys might not yet. But you know, who knows in the future? Value goes up. And if they want me back, I would love to go back. But it was just in that time, in that moment, it felt like the right decision for me. And again, didn’t want it to be. But you know, you got to do what you gotta do.”

On Her Contract Talks With WWE:

“Yeah, so it was honestly like kind of a long process for me. Because it was like a back and forth situation. But yeah, basically they reach out, they say, ‘Here’s what we are offering you for the next three years. And you either accept right then and there or you try to negotiate. And I tried to negotiate, and the offer stood as it was. Went back a couple times like, ‘Oh, like, what about this?’ ‘Nope. Offer stands.” I’m like, ‘Okay.'”

On How Far Apart They Were

“I just wanted any [increased] compensation. I felt like after three years… I wanted a raise, yeah. No [we weren’t miles apart]. There definitely could have been like a meet in the middle. But after I realized there was no budge, I was like, ‘Okay, that’s kind of where it stands.’ There’s nothing else I can do or say. It just was like, ‘Okay, any sort of raise will do.’ And it was ‘No raise’… Just based off of like people who are coming in. Obviously me, came in at that rate. And after three years of two years of being on TV every single Tuesday, working for TNA as well, I felt like maybe a raise would be understandable.”

“I felt like, if they felt like that was my value at that time, then I didn’t see it changing much. Just because you know, I’ve been on TV for two years and I’ve been doing the things I’ve been doing. I’ve been wrestling main roster people just a lot. There’s been a lot that’s put into it. So I felt like if that wasn’t enough for like a cost of living at least, then I just didn’t think that it was I was valued much. So I was like, ‘Okay. Like, you have to be where you’re valued.'”
