The announcement of the inaugural Luna Vachon Invitational coincides with the U.S. premiere of Lunatic, the new documentary on Luna Vachon directed by Kate Kroll, at Fantastic Fest 2025 in Austin, Texas later this month. The tournament celebrates Vachon’s legacy as a trailblazing figure in professional wrestling—known for her fearless in-ring style, radical aesthetic, and defiance of industry norms.

The Luna Vachon Invitational is more than a tournament—it’s a tribute to Luna Vachon’s singular spirit and the generations of wrestlers she inspired. Through the lens of competition, it honors her legacy while shining a spotlight on the future of women’s wrestling. The invocation of Luna Vachon’s name comes with the blessing of her son Van Hurd, nationally recognized chef and Hell’s Kitchen All-Star. He was named Best Chef by the Hartford Courant in 2024.
