Jerry Lawler Says Road Dogg Is The One Who Came Up With ‘Puppies’ Phrase
July 5, 2025 | Posted by

In an interview with Denise Salcedo (via Fightful), Jerry Lawler spoke about his popular ‘puppies’ catchphrase during the Attitude Era of WWE and gave credit to Road Dogg. For those that may be too young to remember (or have blocked it from their memories), puppies was a euphamism for breasts.
The King said: “I wish I could say yes, but I can’t. Road Dogg, he came out and he said on an interview, to, I think, Sable, he said, ‘Hey, let us see your puppies,’ and it went over big. It just stuck in my mind and I started saying it week after week. So I became more [historically associated with the phrase]. I’ll give him his proper credit, though. He started it.“
