On the latest episode of Grilling JR, Jim Ross was asked by a fan who he considers the most underrated star in wrestling over the last 10 years. The episode aired live following AEW Dynamite’s tribute show for PAC, and Ross said PAC belongs in that conversation. You can check out his comments below:
On PAC Being Underrated:
“Oh wow, that’s a little challenging. Well to be honest with you, the man that we’re honoring tonight would be in that conversation because he had to overcome being 5’7″ or 5’8” or whatever he was. Under six feet. And he didn’t get the flowers that he deserved at a variety of times in the profession. PAC was great in every territory. He was great with every company. He would steal the show like nobody’s business because of what he could do in the ring, and everybody wanted to work with him because he wasn’t going to hurt you.
“He was smart, he was careful, he was a pro, and I just loved the guy. I found out about his passing from you Conrad, in a text message, and I had to sit down. I thought, ‘This can’t be accurate,’ because he hadn’t had any health issues that I was aware of. He just was a superb guy.”
On PAC As a Role Model For Smaller Wrestlers:
“He refused to not become one. I’ve harped on this, and I’ve probably said it too much tonight, about his height. Is there anybody you could think of that’s a better role model for guys that are perceived to be undersized? No. Kenny Omega, I think, is maybe 5’10” or 5’11”, but he towers over PAC. But he was a tough little bastard. I can tell you that right now. He never looked as if he was at any kind of disadvantage because of his size.”
