Jimmy Jacobs Doesn’t Feel He Gave His Best During His Time in AEW

Jimmy Jacobs worked in AEW for just over a year, joining the company in the summer of 2023 and leaving in October 2024. He worked backstage and took part in production and creative meetings, but noted that he did ‘admin work’ at the time and didn’t contribute to writing stories. In an interview with Cafe de Rene (via Fightful), Jacobs expressed regret for not giving his best effort during his time working for AEW.
He said: “At AEW, I don’t think I was valuable to my potential. I wasn’t contributing like I would have liked to contribute to AEW. People were critical of me being at AEW. They thought that I had some sort of hand in it that I actually didn’t have. I wish I had. I wish I had been more creatively — gave more creative input. I just didn’t and I’m like, ‘Well, do I not have this in me anymore?’ I wasn’t at my best at AEW. I don’t feel like I gave Tony (Khan) everything I could.“
