Joe Gacy is feeling good after his WWE release, and says he would love to sign with another promotion. The Wyatt Sicks member became a free agent recently after his WWE release in late April, and has been working on the independent scene as Joseph Sawyer.
Gacy was asked about what’s next for him in his appearance on Insight With Chris Van Vliet. He said that he would love to sign somewhere if he has the chance and that he wants to be “in a TV wrestling company.” You can see the highlights below:
On How He’s Doing Post-Release:
This question gets thrown around a lot in the world, but I mean this in the most intentional way. How are you doing?
“I’m doing good. I think I wouldn’t have thought that years ago, having known where I’m at now. But yeah, I don’t know. I feel good. I feel motivated. I feel hopeful. So feeling good.”
On Where He Goes From Here:
“Well, from here, as soon as everything kind of went down, I tried to hit the ground running as quick as I could with what I’m allowed to do at the time. So I just kind of took a day and started organizing some stuff and getting some things in order, but you know now it is time to get back out there. It’s been six years, I think, since I’ve been kind of out of the wrestling scene otherwise. So kind of reeducating myself on the state of independent wrestling, other companies wrestling. So yeah, I’m just ready to get back out there and get moving.”
On If He Would Want To Sign SOmewhere New:
“I would love to, given the opportunity. I think I’m excited to dip my toes back into indie wrestling. But for me, I mean, I think I’m a TV guy. I want to be on a TV production company. I want to be in a TV wrestling company. That’s how I see it. I just learned so much being with WWE that it’s kind of ingrained in me now. I was there for six years, so now they twisted my brain into seeing wrestling differently than I used to.”
On How He Views Wrestling Now:
“I think just understanding the TV product maybe a little bit more than I thought I did. I’ll be honest. When I first got in, I was like, oh, maybe I’ll spend some time at the PC and get put right on. I had a little bit of a rude awakening, not realizing how much went into producing a TV match, hitting times, hitting break spots, all kinds of different things like that, and I like to think I got pretty decent at it. So I think I’m at a point where I would love to marry the TV style with the indie style. I feel like there was a time in NXT that was prominent, but now I feel like they’ve done away with it a little bit, so now I’m hoping to have an opportunity to go somewhere and kind of do that and be able to show a little bit more of what I can do.”
