Joey Janela No Longer Working With Or For PRODUCE Over Disagreement With Promoter

Joey Janela says he’s no longer working with or with PRODUCE Wrestling after a heated disagreement with the promotion’s promoter. Janela posted to Twitter on Tuesday to announce that he and AEW star Megan Bayne, who he tags with on the independent scene, will not be curating or appearing at PRODUCE’s September 13th show titled PRODUCE Chapter 4: Janelasaurus Rex. He said that a new curator will be appointed and wished “everyone at produce continued success!”

Later on, Janela clarified that he will not be “working for or with” PRODUCE going forward. He did not give an initial reason, but later returned to Twitter after questions about his exit were asked by fans. He noted that he had an argument with Orange Crush (aka Adam), the promoter of PRODUCE Wrestling, over his transportation to a show after his flight was canceled. He shared screenshots of text conversations between them in which he felt disrespected and was accused of “missing” the flight. Things escalated from there until he told Orange Crush that he and Bayne were “out.”

Janela wrote:

“Some of the biggest losers on social media are vague posting clowns so I’d like to provide some context for the falling out between Me and Adam (orange crush)

“Adam has to learn how to speak to people, he was a great friend of mine also just a great guy but somewhere within the last year or 2 that changed. He’s become someone that has been absolutely unhinged, deplorable and embarrassing to others around him including his friends

“Many wrestlers have had conversations with me & others regarding his delusional behavior and way he talks down to them.

“Yesterday I woke up at 4:30 am to catch a normal flight to JFK, when I went to check in I saw the flight was cancelled. Figuring Brett was asleep and Adam was up on drugs I hit him up since I was heading to his show to figure out new flight options. I hit him up and we quickly realized nothing in the tri state was available.

“He asked me if I could fly to midway to find something but everything was booked there too, he sent me a flight which I thought was Minneapolis-Chicago-connection- Philadelphia then a uber from Philly to NYC, in which I replied “I ain’t doing all that” which enraged him to degrade my booking the day before here are some screenshots:

“Of course I’m gonna curse at this dude and call him names, I’m an independent wrestler of 20 years & nobody has EVER talked to me like this regarding a booking. I have over 100 screenshots of what’s been said over the last 2 days but I’m not posting all of them.

“Also the building pioneer works will never have him back because the way he’s spoken to them over the past couple days whether in person or via text.”

PRODUCE issued their own statement which read:

“It’s been a long 24 hours

Some people don’t like us because we have a sharp tongue, short fuse and speak truth to power

But we do this because we love the people who make the business possible

The talent and crew

Even if they dont always love us haha

Thank you everyone for making last night possible

It was our proudest moment in this business

Till the wheels fall off”

I will not be working for or with Produce going forward in any way, shape or form. https://t.co/kCAzXpOTRV
