John Cena Says James Gunn Hates ‘You Can’t See Me’ Memes

John Cena has revealed that James Gunn is not a fan of the ‘You Can’t See Me’ memes that center on him. Cena has worked with Gunn on several DC projects including The Suicide Sqaud, Peacemaker , and a camero appearance in Superman. He appeared in a video for GQ promoting the upcoming second season of Peacemaker and while breaking down the first season’s biggest moments, he noted that Gunn hates the meme.

Cena was discussing the scene in which Peacemaker appears in school and a kid slams Peacemaker, saying “I can see right through you and I think you’re a loser.” Cena noted that the scene is one in which his character is starting to question his belief that he’s a hero, then talked about Gunn’s hate of the meme.

“I know James and he f**king hates that joke,” Cena said (per Fightful). “I don’t mind it. So in my mind — just to piss him off — yes, that’s absolutely what James Gunn meant. He meant, ‘You can’t see me.’”

He then joked that Gunn “is throwing shit at his computer right now.”

Peacemaker season two premieres on Thursday.
