* Collision is LIVE from Charleston, West Virginia! Your hosts tonight are Tony Schiavone, Nigel McGuinness, and Paul Wight.
* All Out is next Saturday!
* Commentators run down tonight’s card.
* Jon Moxley is backstage. Speaking in whispers so I have to turn it up. Something something Will Ospreay has a responsibility and has chosen conflict with Moxley and the Deathriders. “Everything is your responsibility now, champ.” Moxley’s problem with the match is that “in all likelihood,” Mox is going to win. Then what happens to Will Ospreay? Moxley says more stuff. Climbing, down, cliffs, falling, stuff. This isn’t bad or anything but we’re four minutes into the show and this ain’t exactly bringing the energy. Gravity (not the wrestler). Ospreay defends the World title against Moxley next Saturday at All Out. Tonight, Moxley wrestlers a Continental Eliminator match against Zachary Wentz. But first, another Rascal is in action – Myron Reed is challenging for Darby Allin’s TNT title!
TNT CHAMPIONSHIP: Darby Allin (c) v Myron Reed
This could be good. Counter wrestling to start. Always love seeing Darby actually DO the fundamental stuff, because he is fantastic at it. Look at his footwork. Look at how he uses his body on the side headlock; he knows he’s a small guy, so he WORKS the hold, lowers his body, spreads his legs, does everything to make it look like he is legitimately fighting for leverage.
Darby almost goes for a dive to the floor but Reed walks away. They reset. Reed with a boot to the gut. Kip up dodge from Reed, then an enziguri. Darby counters the corner splash, rollthrough, shotgun dropkick. Up top, Reed pops up and cuts Darby’s legs out. Allin falls to the apron to the floor! Jesus, Darby. Reed sprints to a corner UP AND OVER THE RING POST ONTO DARBY ON THE FLOOR. Wow, that was beautiful. And that takes us to commercial.
* Commercial Break *
Darby Allin and Reed are on top. The TNT champion delivers a huge superplex! Both men are down. The Rascal rolls outside. Darby follows and chops Reed in the intersection of the barricades. Reed whipped, springs off to the top step, and hits Darby with a leaping kick. Fireman’s carry? Good God. Reed does a “hanging” flatliner from the barricade onto Darby! Darby rolled in. 450 Splash from Reed misses. Darby hits the Code Red for two! Reed kicks out!
Reed again rolls out. Darby Allin gets MOMENTUM and obliterates Reed with a suicide dive. Reed rolled in. Darby up top. Coffin Drop, Reed again rolls out of the way, drawing BOOS. Ooooh. Darby with another suicide
REED CATCHES REED IN MIDAIR WITH A CUTTER TO THE FLOOR. Fuck, man, if not tonight, Myron Reed MUST hold singles gold in AEW. This time, Darby Allin rolls back out. Allin on the apron. Reed hits the ropes, leaps over the top rope WITH ANOTHER CUTTER TO THE FLOOR! Holy shit. Darby has glazed eyes, trying to get his breath. Reed took some damage on the landing there as well.
Back in. Reed connects with the 450 (called the “No Cap Splash”). Darby gets his foot on the rope to break the cover. Somehow, a chair gets set up on the floor. Reed looks for a huge dive onto Darby, on the floor… Darby sidesteps. REED CRASHES INTO THE CHAIR! Darby finds a burst of energy and bundles Reed into the ring. COFFIN DROP! One, two, three!
WINNER: (and still champion) Darby Allin
TIME: 11:22
RATING: ***1/2
THOUGHTS: Very good match with some creative and eye-popping spots. Myron Reed again shows out hard against a top AEW wrestler. Interestingly, Reed showed more aggression than he usually does. It’s also great when Darby isn’t completely dwarfed by his opponent. Reed is well-built, but this was more of a battle between high-flyers than many of Darby’s matches were, more back and forth. Good shit.
Post-match, Zach Wentz and Steven Borden hit the ring for their respective allies. Darby whispers in Reed’s ear and shakes his hand. Allin gets a microphone as the Rascalz exit.
“Let’s give it up to Myron. I don’t care if it’s a singles, tag team, Myron, you showed EVERYBODY that you belong tonight! Speaking of tag team. Teaming with your father was one of the greatest things I’ve ever done in my life. And next Saturday, we have the opportunity to become #1 contenders to the championships that me and Sting NEVER LOST. I know you’re new, but you don’t run away from a challenge. FTR. The Young Bucks. Everybody me and Sting ran through. With you, I expect to do the same. At ALL OUT, Steve, we’re jumping right into the fire.”
Borden gets the mic. “I know how much winning those tag titles with my dad meant to you. And I know I’m still new to all of this. But whatever I have to offer, I just wanted to tell you that I’m going to lay all of it on the line, so that you can be tag team champion again. And hey man, if we can pull that off, at least for me, we’re checking two boxes. One, being tag team champion, and two… being tag team champion with YOU (Darby) as my partner. So next Saturday, CHICAGO, ALL OUT, let’s go take that #1 contender’s spot, and after that, LET’S GO TAKE THOSE TAG TITLES!”
Darby and Steven Borden hug and hype each other up! In one week – Allin & Borden v Kyle Fletcher & Kevin Knight, #1 Contender’s match for the Tag Team Championships.
* Video recap to hype Tommaso Ciampa challenging Kazuchika Okada for the International Title next Saturday at ALL OUT.
* Backstage after Dynamite, it’s Don Callis with Fletcher, Knight, and Okada. The latter three are all looking glum. Knight likes the vision and calls Fletcher a flamingo. He notes that both he and Fletcher have held singles gold in AEW, both have held Trios gold, but neither has held TAG TEAM gold. Fletcher likes that point. Fletcher says they’re going to cakewalk Sting and Borden. Then he takes a bit of a cheapshot comment at Okada lol. Okada says Ciampa should be careful what he wishes for. You wanted the RAINMAKER? Now, you’ve got the RAINMAKER… and you won’t be taking the title. Okada speaks aggressive Japanese and walks off.
I don’t like Ciampa’s chances of winning, but goddamn, that match is going to COOK.
* Commercial Break *
* The Bang Bang Jobbers are backstage. Juice Robinson blows a WHISTLE. What. Haha. Juice actually says, their record is NOT that great. So next Saturday, at the Tailgate Brawl, the Bang Bang Gang challenges the Dogs and the Deathriders (Or what? You’ll get the dogs who eat bees, and when they bark, they shoot bees at you?) to a parking lot brawl! Coach Juice says Austin and Colten will play defense. Colten says they have GREAT D. Ace Austin is gonna be TIGHT END. And their quarterback, JAY WHITE. They’re won’t be any flags, there WILL be unnecessary roughness! WHO ARE WEEEE? BANG BANG GANG! WHO ARE WEEEE? IF YOU’RE NOT DOWN WITH THAT, WE GOT TWO WORDS FOR YOU: FOOTBALL, FOOTBALL, FOOTBALL!
Well, that was fun.
Thekla vs Zayda Steel
God, Thekla is cool. Thekla’s opponent at ALL OUT, former Women’s World Champion WILLOW NIGHTINGALE, is on commentary for this one. The Toxic Spider is sporting her Artist of STARDOM trios title belt.
Steel wants a handshake to start this off. Thekla SLAPS her in the face. Steel with a double leg takedown and starts clubbering! Ref pulls her off, Zayda goes back to it! FIRE! Nigel notes that the world champ, Mercedes Mone, was not cleared for All Out due to the broken nose she suffered at All In. The winner of Thekla v Willow at All OUT will get a title shot at WrestleDream in October.
Thekla hammers away on the upper back of Zayda Steel. Just stiff forearms. SNAP suplex into a cover for two. Into the ropes, ref makes the count. Irish whip, reversed, reversed again, Thekla jumps through the ropes to the apron. Zayda catches Thekla with a boot, Zayda yells GOODNIGHT and hits a Codebreaker (called “Lungblower” by Schiavone)! Thekla with another slap. Zayda slaps back. Charge, drop toe hold from Thekla drapes Zayda on the ropes. BIG BOOT and Zayda is on the floor.
STOMP from Thekla to the back of Zayda Steel. “This match-up continues!”
* Commercial Break *
We’re back, baby! Zayda is on the floor in pain. Thekla grabs a handful of hair to send Zayda back inside. Toxic Spider is distracted and starts talking shit to Willow at the announce desk! Thekla finally turns around… into a baseball slide from Zayda Steel! Steel gets back in, sends Thekla into the corner. Charge meets boot. Thekla hooks the legs and gets the spider guillotine. Mike Posey counts, but Thekla does the damage (including an upside down split after releasing). Thekla charges – Zayda with a Lou Thesz Press and clubbering!
Should note the crowd right now are actually BOOING Zayda’s comeback. Not LOUDLY, but enough. They are much more FOR Thekla. Thekla is just too cool and she’s babyfaced herself without changing anything.
Zayda with fireman’s carry cutter! One, two, Thekla kicks out! Zayda to the top rope. Thekla with an elbow to daze her opponent. Thekla climbs, Zayda with forearms and elbows! Sunset Flip powerbomb attempt! Thekla holds tight and Zayda can’t complete, so Zayda attacks. Thekla is in the Tree of Woe! Zayda up top, DOUBLE STOMP TO THE TRAPPED TOXIC SPIDER! Zayda rolls her over for one, two, Thekla rolls a shoulder! The crowd reaction is backwards, but Zayda is really showing her worth here!
Zayda going for a KILLSWITCH?? Thekla blocks. Matrix counter! Zayda hits the buckle, here’s the spider walk from Thekla! SPEAR CONNECTS! Cover connects. One, two…Thekla PULLS Zayda up. Wight says that is a bad move. Thekla off the ropes, CURB STOMP. This time, Thekla gets the three.
WINNER: Thekla
TIME: 11:53
RATING: ***3/4
THOUGHTS: The interesting thing about this match was that the crowd wasn’t interested in any of Zayda’s babyface hope spots or her comeback; they were pro-Thekla. I don’t think it HURT the match, but the crowd reactions were off for the story being told. Zayda has a lot of fire and looked very good in here against Thekla. Like others have said, the Toxic Spider is effortless. Effortlessly cool, effortlessly badass. Also, this match got TIME. I liked this a lot.
* From the commentary desk, Thekla stares down Thekla. Julia Hart is in the ring to celebrate with her TOXIC stablemate.
* Video package hyping Willow v Thekla at All Out. Winner gets a World Title match at Wrestledream.
* Commercial Break *
PAC v Adam Priest
Everything about Adam Priest screams “2004 indie mid-carder,” including his terrible music. I like his hard-nosed style fine enough, but I don’t really understand why commentary is working overtime to put Priest over. Clearly TK sees something in him.
Also, Adam and Priest two of the most common wrestling first and last names… anyway.
PAC works Priest over. Priest reverses and hits some chops. Priest catches PAC’s leg and attacks, looks for a single crab. PAC counters and hits a sick release German Suplex. The Bastard seems to be offended by Priest’s attempts at offense. Stiff boots. Corner boot choke. SNAP suplex (with authority) for two.
Reminder that next week, Wednesday is THREE hours with Dynamite and “one hour of Collision.” Tailgate Brawl the hour before All Out.
PAC gets a side headlock, because that’s what this match needed, a rest hold. Priest fights out to polite applause from the West Virginia Colliders. Priest is cut off by a big spin kick from PAC. Another kick is caught. Dragon Screw! Priest gets the half crab, but PAC rolls through for one, Priest reverses for two. Lariat from PAC sends Priest to the canvas. BIG boot from Pac. Tombstone Piledriver by the Bastard, into the Brutalizer. That’s that, Priest submits.
WINNER: PAC
TIME: 4:14
RATING: n/r
THOUGHTS: Priest got in a few bits of offense, but PAC didn’t exactly work hard to put Crash Holly’s illegitimate son away.
PAC, along with Gabe Kidd, has been openly questioning Jon Moxley as of late. It makes sense to give PAC a win. Here’s the thing, though. Looking quickly at Cagematch, PAC’s singles record in 2026? 2-7. He’s a loser. Every Deathrider other than Moxley loses the majority of their matches. PAC is a little better in trios or eight-man; even then the record is 15-15. The only singles wins he gets are against ROH regulars, AKA geeks. I don’t think the Deathriders as a group has run its course, but it has ONLY benefitted Moxley and Marina Shafir, especially this year. I hope the friction with Kidd and PAC leads to an actual story for the other members.
“How you know?” Andrade El Idolo’s music hits before PAC gets out of the ring! Andrade has on some kind of fetish looking suit. Ha. The National Champion makes his way to the ring.
AEW NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP: Andrade El Idolo (c) vs Daniel Garcia
Back and forth action to start, eventually leading to Andrade posing TRANQUILO in the ropes. Garcia stews, then raises his fists… before he can dance, Andrade goes to the PANTS. Garcia charges and cuts that off. Now it’s a fight! Garcia gets tossed outside and Andrade dives. Andrade finds a baddie at ringside and does the selfie. Marina Shafir stalks in and threatens the “fan.” She tries to slap Andrade! He catches it, but that allows Garcia to attack from behind. Garcia stomps away as the ref tells him to get it in the ring.
* Commercial Break *
Garcia mounts Andrade (phrasing) in the corner and rains down punches. He teases the DANCE, but drops off to boos. Andrade takes advantage and hits a suplex. Garcia fights out. Andrade ends up on the apron, and Garcia boots the man down to the floor. Now Daniel Garcia wants a selfie with the plant. Garcia steals her phone and does a selfie; the woman is cowering behind him lol. Garcia realizes the ref is counting. He can’t win the title that way! Garcia bundles Andrade in and shouts HOW YOU KNOW, HUH. Oh, Danny. Pretending to be a tough guy. Andrde fires up. They exchange right hands! Andrade gains the advantage, big lariat! Another! Flying forearm! Kip up! The crowd loves THE REAL LATINO MAN!
Andrade fights with the zipper. Garcia attacks! Andrade back drops Danny to the floor, and NOW THE PANTS COME OFF! Andrade flexes, then hits a wild twisting splash from the top to Garcia on the floor. “How You Know” chants ring out. McGuinness calls Andrade’s trunks “underpants.” Uh, have you guys seen wrestling trunks? Heh.
Andrade looks for the STINKFACE. I kid, but the slapping of the upper thighs kinda reminds me of it. Garcia avoids the running Meteora! Garcia looks for a suplex; Andrade counters. Three Amigos! “Eddie” chants ring out. Garcia blocks the third suplex, uses his legs, and gets around the champion into a rear naked choke. He doesn’t quite have it. Andrade manages to stand up, drops back on top of Garcia to break it.
Andrade with a moonsault, misses the first, nails the standing! That gets two. Garcia slumped in a corner and Andrade again goes for the Meteora. Garcia again blocks it! Gets the leg, looks for the Dragontamer, no, he flips over and cradles Andrade. One, two, three? Andrade rolls it over, one, two, three? What the heck?
WINNER: (and still champion) Andrade El Idolo
TIME: 13:20
RATING: **3/4
THOUGHTS: I rewound the finish SIX TIMES and I still don’t know what the heck was going on there. On the first cradle, BOTH men’s shoulders appear to be down. The referee CLEARLY counts three on the first pinfall. It’s a three-count. Was the idea that both shoulders were down, so he waved it off? That’s not at all the standard, it would be a double pinfall. Was Andrade supposed to clearly kick out, then turn it over? The count goes ONE, TWO, THREE – ONE – ONE, TWO, THREE. The crowd had no idea what was going on. The action was fine, but that finish was either botched or awful, so I’m docking a full star.
Commentary tries to make sense of/explain the weird finish. Andrade offers a handshake to Daniel Garcia? The Deathriders (including Kidd) attack from behind. PAC, Claudio, Garcia, Wheeler, Kidd, and Marina beat Andrade down. PAC gets a mic as the others hold El Idolo. PAC wants a National Title shot next Saturday at ALL OUT. Andrade calls Pac a “pendejo perra” and eats a stiff boot.
Francesco Akira slides into the ring! The fiery Italian from the United Empire is outnumbered but he attacks! Akira with something like TWENTY CHOPS to Claudio! Marina nabs him from behind with a choke, Claudio nails a lariat. The beatdown is on. Andrade covers Francesco with his own body! That only goes so far. Sick uranage backbreaker from Claudio to Akira. A second.
SPEEDBALL is here for a save! Bailey runs in with a chair! The Deathriders clear the ring! Apparently, it will be Speedball v Wheeler Yuta… right after this commercial break.
* Commercial Break *
Speedball Mike Bailey v Wheeler Yuta
Back from break, and the bell rings. Yuta yanks the hair to put Bailey down and then stomps. CHOP in the ropes. Speedball reverses and sends Yuta to the floor. Looks for a dive, changes it up when Yuta moves. Bailey charges at Yuta on the floor, backdrop, Bailey goes into the steel steps! Yuta poses to a chorus of boos. Wheeler pulls the covering off the middle turnbuckle joint. Yuta puts Bailey’s bare foot over the exposed metal and stomps on it. Yowch.
Crowd gives Yuta the what-for. Yuta wants a suplex. Bailey blocks. Yuta stomps the foot of Speedball! Again wants the suplex, but Bailey fights. Speedball breaks free and hits a dropkick that sends Yuta to the mat. “SPEEDBALL” chants. And now the kicks come! Running SSP for two. Bailey fires off some right hands, then looks for a cross armbreaker. Yuta wrestles out, deadlift, hits a bridging German suplex. That gets two. Nice show of strength from young Wheeler!
Yuta charges, Speedball ducks. Yuta sent to the floor. Speedball with a moonsault onto Yuta on the floor!
* Commercial Break *
We come back to Wheeler delivering a top-rope back suplex! Shades of his former mentor Bryan Danielson! But Yuta cannot capitalize. They climb up. Some back and forth, Speedball gets a spinning heel kick. Crowd is THUNDERING behind Bailey! Bailey with a Falcon Arrow. Up top, Garcia dodges the SSP knees, Bailey manages to land on his feet! Bailey reverses a Garcia charge into the cross armbreaker. Garcia rolls it over for two. They go back and forth countering pinfalls. Bailey tries a standing SSP and eats canvas. Yuta with another rollup, gets two. Yuta looks for the Busaiku Knee, misses. Bailey kicks him in the face! AGAIN with the SSP, AGAIN dodged, but we get more pinning attempts. Two counts.
Multiple standing switches reversed, Bailey twists the arms of Yuta into a pinfall, one, two, three.
WINNER: Speedball Mike Bailey
TIME: 11:18
RATING: **3/4
THOUGHTS: Decent match, but the final minutes were pretty bad. They just no-sold all of the offense, including Bailey’s foot, and did a bunch of pinfall rollup exchanges. Bailey has used that specific tie-up pinning predicament before so it’s good to see it get a win. Post-match was fine, but Bailey continues to be stuck putting on good matches, win or lose, with no discernable direction or storyline. Is he going to get more involved feuding with the DeathDogs? Wheeler is fine, but his job remains to be the weakest Deathrider and eat pinfalls. It’s the same role he played in 2023 with the Blackpool Combat Club. Wheeler has improved as a wrestler and a character, but positioning and job is exactly the same. It’s not interesting.
Wheeler Yuta attacks the victorious Wheeler. The Deathriders (sans Moxley) return to attack Bailey. The Dogs, Clark Connors and David Finlay, are also there. “Also there” seems to sum up the Dogs.
GUNS UP! The Bang Bang Gang are here! The Collision Cowboys charge the ring and it’s BUSTING LOOSE IN TULSA WEST VIRGINIA! Security and referees are out to try to restore some order as the BBG and DogRiders engage in a pier-six brawl! Katy, bar the door! It’s bonzo gonzo! Cliches!
* Jungle Jack Perry is walking through a forest, lit in red color grading. Perry says he must now walk with the killers. Face the best to become the best.
Oh, and that’s it.
* Cut to the Opps. Hook says Jack Perry is a stupid person for calling out Samoa Joe. Action Andretti talks. Anthony Bowens says “what are we doing here, guy?” God, Hook has lost ALL of his aura. Hook looks like such a geek. Andretti walks off and takes the camera. Haha, here’s Shibata. Bowens says if Perry wants to “talk” to Joe? Get through Shibata first. That was… rough. The Opps are awful (except Shibata).
Queen Aminata & Mina Shirakawa vs Georgia South & Emily Jaye
Schiavone mentions Queen Mina’s ROH tag record as if that means anything. Aminata and Emily Jaye start. I think. Commentary have not been good at all lately about identifying the enhancement talent in the ring. Aminata tags in. Mina knocks her opponent down. Aminata and Mina do the knee/titty pose (Queen makes sure to squish hers together). They dodge an attack from the opponents, and then do STEREO CHOCOLATE KISSES.
Nigel: “If Aminata is doing CHOCOLATE kisses, what is MINA doing?”
Wight: “I don’t want to get fired.”
Mina looks for a Dragon sleeper, opponent gets out. Aminata with a forearm to the opponetn as the referee LITERALLY JUST STANDS THERE WATCHING THE ILLEGAL DOUBLETEAM. Glamourous Driver from Mina. The other opponent runs in. Mina looks for the figure four. Aminata is on the top rope. DOUBLE STOMP to the figure four’d opponent! Aminata with the running headbutt! Cover made, I guess Aminata and the woman in black and white are legal, because referee counts three.
WINNERS: Aminata & Mina Mina Mina
TIME: Under five minutes
RATING: N/R
THOUGHTS: Well, it was a squash, but it wasn’t GOOD. The match was completely disjointed, commentary didn’t even bother to identify which jobber was which, the referee was dogshit. Aminata & Mina as a team is fun at any rate, but this was bad.
* Nick Wayne is pissed off that he lost the match, but he is MUCH angrier that Jericho offered a handshake like it was some “big honor.” Nick wasn’t taught a damn thing at Dynamite. Maybe it’s Jericho who “doesn’t know what you don’t know.”
* Mox v Wentz is next.
* Commercial Break *
CONTINTENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP ELIMINATOR: Jon Moxley (c) vs Zachary Wentz
PRO WRESTLING starts us off. Wristlocks, counters, headlocks. Schiavone announces that Perry v Shibata will take place on the Tailgate Brawl next Saturday.
Wentz and Mox work up to a standing position. Wentz with a single leg takedown, tries for an ankle lock. Moxley gets to the ropes. Crowd is firmly behind Moxley. “LET’S GO MOXLEY.” Chop from Mox, then some body blows. Irish whip. Wentz meets Mox with a boot, quick crossbody by Wentz! Trips Moxley, hits a dropkick that sends Moxley to the outside. Mox charges back to the apron, only for Wentz to hit a handspring kick. Tornillo from the inside to the outside by Wentz! Wentz plays to the crowd, then rolls Moxley back in. That minor delay proves costly, because Moxley catches Zachary with a quick cutter!
* Commercial Break *
Moxley hits repeated running forearms to Wentz in the corner. Wentz counters a final one with a running high knee! Both men are down. Wentz hits some chops, Moxley cuts it off with a boot. Irish whip, Wentz counters with double chops. Mox and Wentz engage in a chop battle. Like Thekla/Zayda, the crowd isn’t getting behind the “babyface comeback” because they’re behind Moxley. They appreciate Wentz, mind.
Wentz hits a rising knee to a cornered Moxley. Big kick to the chest. Wentz is up top. Moxley staggers up and eats a Blockbuster! THAT’S THE STUFF! Moxley kicks out. Back up, Wentz charges, eats an elbow. But Moxley can’t dodge a single leg takedown, into a single leg crab. Wentz has it on. Moxley’s hand is shaking! Moxley rolls over and through, popping Wentz down into a rear naked choke! Wentz keeps fighting, rolls Moxley up for two.
Moxley whips Wentz to the ropes. Handspring rebound knee! Once again, the Rascal heads to the top rope. Wentz with a twisting splash eats canvas as Moxley moves. Curbstomp by Moxley. Mox is fired up. Hooks the arms. Deathrider connects. The three-count is academic.
WINNER: Jon Moxley
TIME: 9:17
RATING: **3/4
THOUGHTS: Well, that was a match. Of the three Rascalz, Wentz is notably in not-as-good shape as Xavier or Reed. He’s good in tags and trios, but this was “acceptable” singles. Obviously, there was zero chance of Wentz even getting the twenty minute draw so that takes some drama out, but they weren’t able to at least build doubt. The match itself was fine. Felt like the pair never really got on the same page, and Wentz looked a bit gassed. Moxley wins en route to challenging Willy Goat at the PPV. NEXT SATURDAY! IN CHICAGO ILLINOIS! Heh. I dunno, this match happened?
What the hell music are they playing? Some weird combination of Moxley’s music and something else is blaring. It sounds terrible. The other Deathriders (and Kidd) hit the ring. Heh. There is the sting and the proper Moxley music. The Deathriders celebrate. Moxley poses. That’s our show.
