SICKOS! It’s Wednesday, you know what that means! AEW Dynamite is going onto the airwaves tonight, and in lieu of Forbidden Door taking place this Sunday at the O2 in London, Dynamite (and Collision) will take place this week from in Glasgow, Scotland! The crowd should be rabid, we should get some amazing chants, and we should also see more amazing action, as has become the norm.
The Finals of the Tag Team Eliminator Tourney happens tonight, as FTR will face the new best friends Bandido and Brody King, on the shorthand known as Brodido, with the winner moving on to face The Hurt Syndicate on Sunday. In an appetizer of what is to come in regard to Sunday, we will have a women’s tag team match, pitting Athena and Mercedes Mone against TIMELESS Toni Storm and Alex Windsor (WINDSAAAAAAAAAAAH!). This, of course, plays into the singles match between Storm and Athena and Mone and Windsor being 1/2 of the 4-way TBS Title Match in London. Also in a preview of the officially unsanctioned, Lights Out Steel Cage Match this Sunday, The Death Riders will face off against the team of Jet Speed and The Ace, Hiroshi Tanahashi. We’ll also hear from our World Champion, Hangman Adam Page, Will Ospreay will go face-to-face with Moxley, Tony Schiavone will talk with Adam Copeland and Christian Cage ahead of their in-ring reunion this Sunday, and as we have come to expect by now, so much more in store!
So, how are you fine folks this Wednesday Night? I think I have a lead on continuing my career as a PT, so I am thrilled yet anxious. Also, in site related news, the construction of the Preview for Forbidden Door is underway. A thousand apologies for not having the roundtable this time, but a lot of stuff has been throwing around like stones in my personal life, so I appreciate the people who reached out about it but appreciate the understanding even more than that. Also, in more site related news, after covering Raw last week and then TNA Emergence on Friday, I feel like I’m back in my natural habitat lol.
So, enough talking, I’ll leave that to the wrestlers!
Image Credit: Follow the Revolution – FTR on Facebook. Nigel has stated that, if it wasn’t for Tony Khan, resuming an in-ring career would not have been possible. We should learn to never take anything for granted in life.
Tonight, we are LIVE (To Tape!) from the OVO Arena in Glasgow Scotland! The man behind the mask, Excalibur, The Inevitable Tony Schiavone, and in place of Taz Jones, The American Dragon Bryan Danielson will be guest commentating tonight! Surely NOTHING out of the ordinary will happen as a result, no sir!
Excalibur welcomes us to the show, and Bryan Danielson gets an entrance so the crowd can lose its mind. As an aside, damn, the arena looks really good and really full. Nice! We see Hangman Page getting off of a train with a guy who oddly looks a lot like Dax Harwood, but it’s probably not him lol.
Will Ospreay BRUV is here to have a talky-talk with Moxley!
(Ere sorry, wrong guy lol).
Big Ospreay chants, and Will seems to be taken aback at this. Thanks for that, it’s been one of the worst times of my life, but I can depend on you guys. He can always count on Glasgow, he flew into Scotland, the promotor didn’t want to put him up, so they shuttled him right to the arena. Typical Scottish promoter. Spoiler alert, they murder the Yanks in drinking lol. Ospreay could was put in the taxi, and he was blinded, but he saw blue lights ahead. Best Sausage Rolls! Chants ensue. He let you guys down, and he has known them for so long, he grew up in front of them since such a young age. He was in one of the worst moods, and it was because of what Jon and the Death Riders did to him. He felt invincible when he was young, he was a brahma bull, he felt he could do no wrong. Taka Michinoku apparently called him an alien, but he feels human right now. He is scared, because he is waking down the road that other wrestlers have walked, and they haven’t come back the same. Here is a truth for you, and you can spin it anyway you want to. He wasn’t cleared for Forbidden Door, they said I can’t wrestle. So, he said he will take it into his own hands. Lights Out means unsanctioned, so it isn’t on AEW’s hands, it is in his own hands. He is aware of the risks, and he is comfortable taking them. This place means os much to him. The next generation is going to look at these three letters, and Will is going to be the standard bearer. If there is a chance he can’t be Will Ospreay after this Sunday, rest assured he left it all in the ring. He is going into Forbidden Door with four of his best friends, and before they can stab Will, he is going to take a pound of flesh from them!
Death Rider hits, and we see Moxley and Marina Shafir enter from outside the arena. They take their time walking around the crowd before hitting the ring side area, as Moxley gets into the ring and gets in the face of Ospreay. We see Claudio and Wheeler get on the apron. Will says you’re the ace of AEW, why are your guys fighting your battles? If you want to get rid of me from AEW, do it yourself.
Jet Speed has arrived to even the odds! THE ACE has arrived! The bell rings, and the match has started.
The Death Riders vs. Jet Speed and Hiroshi Tanahashi
Moxley and Tanahashi trade in the middle of the ring, but Moxley goes to the eyes for a good rake. Claudio is in now, and he lands body shots to the Ace. Yuta in now, as he stomps on the arm of The Ace. FUCK YOU YUTA chants, and it’s nice to see that chant transcends oceans! Tana with the Dragon Screw to Yuta, and he tags in Bailey. Bailey goes to work attempting to kick the sheep hair and wool off of Yuta. Standing SSP nets Mike a two count. Yuta trips out his legs and goes for a quick pin for a two count. Claudio gets the tag, and he hits a scoop slam to Bailey. He proceeds to choke Mike against the bottom rope, while Yuta takes a cheap shot. Marina takes a cheap shot at Knight, and Remsburg sees it and ejects her! Claudio with the Giant Swing, but Knight jumps over his partner and dropkicks Claudio. We see Marina back up the ramp, Ospreay is back.
Marina: What The…
Will picks her up and carries her to the back, as Jon follows up the ramp and points at…something. PIP Break!

-IT’S BANANA SEASON!
Knight is in the Death Riders corner, as Moxley stands on Bailey in the corner post-break. Claudio in now. Claudio arrogantly scraps his boot against the face of Knight, but when Kevin fights back, he eats uppercuts like grapes. Claudio knocks Bailey off the apron, but Knight with a thrust kick to Claudio. One for Jon as he tries to intercept Knight. Tana and Yuta get the tags. Tana unloads on Yuta and drops Moxley to the arena floor. Tana with the Senton from the second rope to Yuta. Cover for a two count. Bailey is back with a kick to Moxley, a thrust kick to Claudio, and a moonsault off the apron to Moxley! Knight takes Claudio out to the floor! Sling blade by Tana to Yuta. Jon and Claudio are back in, but so is Jet Speed! Triple Twist and Shout! The Bullet Club War Dogs are here! They get on the apron and distract the ref, perhaps to make their presence known. Ospreay is back, and he has a body bag! Knight and Bailey take out the Death Riders on the floor! High-Fly Flow to Yuta! Tana wins it for his team!
WINNER: Jet Speed and Hiroshi Tanahashi
TIME: 11:05
THOUGHTS: Winners were kind of obvious, and the fall guy was obvious as well. Loved seeing The Ace and Jet Speed gel as a team.
RATING: ***1/2
The beatdown is on in the ring. The Young Bucks sneak up on Ospreay, and they give him a tandem superkick when he turns around! Roddy Strong and Kyle O’Reilly are here to right the Young Bucks to the back! The Death Riders make it up the ramp, thinking that Marina is in the bag. They open it, and Darby Allin springs out and goes on the attack! The Opps are here now! Darby is trying to get to Claudio, but he gets away. The War Dogs and the Opps have seemed to have squared off, as the fight has made it into the crowd. DARBY ALLIN WITH A COFFIN DROP FROM THE TOP OF THE MEZZANINE AND TAKES OUT THE WAR DOGS AND THE DEATH RIDERS!
Bryan: Is Darby okay?
No, of course, he never is, you silly goat!
Ospreay’s theme hits, as the good guys make their way back to ring side, as the bad guys are left to pick themselves up in the crowd.
Video package for the AEW World Title Match this Sunday between the challenger, MJF, and the champion, Hangman Page. We see the highlights from this past week on Dynamite.
COMMERCIALS!
Schiavone is in the ring and hypes up the crowd, before introducing Adam Copeland to the ring. The fans of Glasgow have made it their business to sing his theme the loudest, and I think we are all here for it!
Christian Cage’s theme hits before Tony can introduce him, but he comes out anyway.
Tony says this quite the moment. Let him be the first to say that it has been a long time to see you two together. HOLY SHIT chants. Christian wants the fans to sit down and shut up…
Copeland grabs the mic. What are you doing, man? These people love us. We are arguably the greatest tag team of all-time. But he gets it, you are an asshole. But here’s the thing I have learned over the years in this industry. Sometimes, you need an asshole, and it just so happen that he is my asshole.
Tony says Adam asked Christian to go find himself, the question is, have you? Christian said you are right, at All-In, Adam took him by the hands and told him to go find himself. And Cage took some time away to find himself, and guess what he found? He doesn’t need to change a thing, he is perfect just the way he is. Adam and him are on the same page, there has been a lot of things said, and there is a lot of scar tissue, but they are at least writing in the same book. This isn’t a happy reunion, this is a reunion out of necessity. Adam has agreed to help him with his Kid Nicky problem, and Cage has agreed to him Copeland with his FTR Problem. He knows his word hasn’t mean anything to him in the past few years, but he will put his hand out in front of these people, he will guarantee Copeland that this version of Christian will be the best tag team partner that you have ever had.
They shake hands, and Kip Sabian and Mama Wayne are here! Sabian calls him pathetic, and he is not pandering for the support of the same people you hated. Mama Wayne says who are you to boo a mother, but not just any mother, the mother of the Prodigy! We see Nick Wayne on the screen! Who is he to ruin this moment between “legends”. Last week, Christian hit the ring to save Copeland, and Nick wasn’t far behind. It’s just that, you tried to take his life with that spike thing. Now, you may not have gotten what you wanted, but Wayne will be out for weeks because of you. I guarantee you this, if I had shown up this Sunday, he would have turned the feel-good reunion into a nightmare in minutes. He would have embarrassed you. So, it will be a blessing in disguise that he isn’t there Sunday. Or is it? He is always one step ahead!
We see a video play, and KILLSWITCH sits up on a table with a breathing mask on! He’s here in the flesh! Sabian tries to sneak in from behind, but as Christian takes care of him, Killswitch chokeslams Copeland! Christian comes face-to-face with Killswitch. He feigns walking away, but he turns around and chokeslams Christian! Killswitch is officially taking the place of Nick Wayne this Sunday!
Mark Briscoe is in the back. He flew across the ocean to find MJF and kill that fool!
COMMERCIALS!
Ricky and the GOA are here. Ricky says what you are looking at is the greatest team in wrestling. MJF is here. Settle down, bald people freak him out, but he is here to say that the enemy of my enemy is my friend. What if you guys take out Mark Briscoe for me? Ricky says usually he loves to see MJF run around like a chicken with his head cutoff, but in this case, he likes what he is hearing, so he accepts. MJF tells the camera to get out of here. SUSPENSE!
Incoming BRISCOE!
AEW World Tag Team Titles Eliminator Tourney Finals: FTR W/Big Stoke vs. Brodido
Harwood and Bandido to start us off. Dax tries to overpower and bully Bandido, but he isn’t having any of that. Harwood with wrist control, but Bandido rolls out and shakes Harwood. Back to the lock-up, and Harwood grabs a headlock. Bandido to his feet, but Harwood with a shoulder tackle. They’re going to lock up again, but Cash Wheeler tries to grab Bandido by his hair. Rude, I tell you lol. Lock-up, Bandido goes behind, and takes Dax to the mat. Dax back up, but Bandido sweeps out the legs, and the ROH Champion threatens him with finger guns. Dax is mad, but shouldn’t Cash be mad instead?
Rimshot.
it works, though, as Cash tags in. Wheeler goes behind Bandido, turns it into a side headlock. Bandido works out and trips Cash. Bandido ducks Wheeler’s tilt-a-world and hits a dropkick. He hits one on Harwood as well. Bandido threatens to fly, but FTR get out of dodge. We see The Hurt Syndicate watching on in the back. Uncle Dax throws a chair in the ring, so Paul Turner throws it out of the ring. So, he throws ANOTHER chair into the ring, and Turner throws THAT one out as well lol.
All this does it give King a chance to enter the match for the first time. He repeatedly throws Wheeler to the mat, and he wants Harwood. Wheeler tags out, and Harwood comes in and hits forearms. But for three forearms, King drops Dax with ONE chop. Ouch. Cash in from behind and he jumps on King’s back. Harwood with a kick to the gut, and a piledriver, BUT BRODY GETS RIGHT BACK UP! Double clothesline to FTR! Double back splash sentons! Bandido is in now. Casadora from Bandido, assisted splash to Dax! The cover, two count. King off the ropes but Stoke hits Bandido from behind with his sling. But apparently, he had a pipe in there! Uncle Dax has the mic. Excuse me, but this is Big Stoke, and you respect him! We see Bordy has been busted open as we go to PIP Break.
-Collision, you know where to find it.
-Impractically meh.
-Back-to-back Re*Bath commercials. Apparently, they reuse items to remake your shower and bath. Cool.

-SNHU dominating the school scene tonight!

King has created the opening he needs as we return from PIP. He gets Bandido into the match, and Bandido goes to work on both members of FTR. Head scissors to Wheeler, and a lariat to Harwood. Wheeler is back, but Bandido sends Dax to the floor, then sends Cash out and onto Harwood. Bandido goes to fly, but FTR catch him out of the air and slam him face-first onto the apron! FTR chuck Bandido into the barricade, as King is still down on the other side of the ring. We see the pipe, apparently the evidence that Stoke used to hit King with. In the ring, Harwood with a brain buster to Bandido! The cover, two count. Wheeler gets the tag, team assisted elbow drop from the top by Cash. The cover, two count. Danielson said the pin was lax, and I agree. Bandido to his feet, but Harwood shoulders him into the ring ropes. Dax places Bandido on the top rope and goes up. Bandido fights back, he chops away on Harwood, but he keeps teetering back up lol. Finally, Bandido chops Harwood to the mat. A crossbody from the top follows, and Dax kicks out at two. Another PIP Break!
-Jason, what are you doing with that pie? Oh, nothing!
-Women Wearing Shoulder Pads? Okay, sounds interesting.
-Is there nothing that Marshawn Lynch won’t shill?
-Swiffer products are the best. In the words of Tyson Kidd, FACT
-AT BK, HAVE IT YOUR WAY, YOU RULE!
-Your credit score feeling like the Lazarus Pit? Get Credit Karma.

The cover, Cash with the save. King clotheslines both men to the floor. Bandido with the tag, as King takes down both men on the floor. Bandido takes flight and this time he doesn’t get caught! Cash is in the chair, so he gets the crossbody treatment. Bandido tries to go up but Stoke grabs his foot. Bandido kicks him away and gets his mask back. He changes masks on the apron, goes up top, does a tribute to Eddie, and hits the frog splash! The cover, two count. Wheeler shoves King face first into the ring post, then hits a tornado DDT. Bandido knocks Wheeler off the apron, but Dax with an uppercut to Bandido. He tries a suplex, but Bandido with the reversal for a two count. King is back, and he chocks out Cash on the apron. King to the top, but Dax cuts him off. BACK SUPLEX FROM THE TOP BY DAX, CASH WITH THE SPLASH! Modified Power and Glory! The cover, but King is out at 2.5!
My timer says we have five minutes left. I wonder…
FTR with the Shatter Machine, but King wasn’t the legal man! Bandido in with a rana to Dax! La Magistral by Bandido to Cash for a two count. He tries again, but Cash gets out. One minute left!
THIS IS AWESOME chants as FTR go under the ring and grab a table. King goes on the attack. he sends Cash into the barricade, then sends Harwood into the barricade. He misses his follow up charge and hits the barricade. Bandido out of the ring, avoiding the table, but Cash didn’t, as he explodes the table! The bell rings and the match has ended in a draw!
WINNER: Time Limit Draw
TIME: 30:00
THOUGHTS: Kind of taking the cheap way out here, but obviously, putting FTR on the main card at Forbidden Door rights a wrong from All-In Texas, and Brodido are such a fun team that they shouldn’t have lost. I like the end result of a 3-team match, and this match was built just right, with a slow and tentative start, leading into balls to the wall action.
RATING: ****1/4
Post-match, Bandido tries to pin Harwood, not understanding that the match is over. Arkady says the match has ended in a draw, but Tony Khan has told her that both teams will go on to face the Hurt Syndicate this Sunday! Speaking of THS, Shelton and Bobby are here. They raise their titles, as we see the opponents licking their wounds in and around the ring.
COMMERCIALS!
Our AEW World Champion, Hangman Page, is here post-break. I have it on good authority that Arilyn is thrilled beyond basic words at the moment!
Page with a mic in hand. Last week, I was jumped from behind in the parking lot by Maxwell Jacob Friedman. Jumped from behind, because that’s how MJF likes to handle things. Underhanded, backstabbing. If there is a problem in his life, he cannot look it head-on because he doesn’t have the balls to do it. It’s a waste of my time and your time to call him out to the ring to get the piss beat out of him, because he is an insecure and gutless coward. But he needs you to know that once you signed that contract and stand across from me at Forbidden Door, there will be nothing underhanded. he will shove his size 12 ostrich leathers up your checkered ass!
MJF’s theme hits, but he doesn’t come out. Schiavone says that MJF has a message for you. Apparently if you leave the ring before he finishes, according to MJF, something very bad is going to happen. You have to stay in the ring.
MJF on the screen. Remember when I told you that you are your most vulnerable when you are angry? We see Briscoe tied up in a chair. MJF has three simple requests, and if you say yes, then your friend leaves save and sound. If you say no, well, he is going to be Kentucky Fried. So here are three demands. One, the title can change by DQ. Two, the title can change hands by count out. And three, if he losses at Forbidden Door, he doesn’t have to use his contract. MJF counts to four, and Hangman says fine, you got it. MJF says see you at Forbidden Door, and congratulations, you are still a hero.
Page grabs a chair and heads to the back as we hit the break.
COMMERCIALS!
We return to see Page on the chase in the back. He sees Ricky and hits him in the back with his chair. Hangman wants to know where MJF is, but security tell him that he is gone. Hangman punches one of them security and takes off.
Danielson says that MJF doesn’t have the confidence to cash in the contract and face Hangman like a real man. Basically, harping what Hangman has been saying.
It’s time for the MAIN EVENT! We see Persephone watching from ring side, and we learn that Bozilla will represent STARDOM in the TBS Title 4-way this Sunday. That’s going to be pretty awesome, NGL.
8-Titles Mercede Mone and the Forever Champion Athena vs. AEW Women’s World Champion TIMELESS Toni Storm and Alex WINDSAAAAAAAAAH
TONI, TONI STORM, TONI, TONI STORM chants before the bell. Mone and Windsor will start us off. Mone with a headlock. Windsor with the counter, Mone grounds her, but Alex with a side headlock takedown. Mone to her feet, with forearms, but Windsor Mack trucks her. Mone springboards over with an arm drag. She blocks a lariat with a forearm strike. Mone into the corner and out with another arm drag. She charges in, but Windsor turns it around. Mone kicks her away, crossbody block from the top. Two count ensues. Windsor picks up Mone and throws her to their corner.
Storm tags in, she licks Mone and tells her to get into her belly. LMAO! Mone is weirded out and tags in Athena. Storm with a waist lock, but Athena backs her into the corner. Athena smacks her ass, so Storm fires up. Athena counters it with an arm drag, and another one from out of the ropes. Athena posses, but Storm with a shoulder tackle. She pops up, so Storm does it again. Misdirection dropkick from Storm and a backbreaker. Windsor tags in, double team suplex to Athena. They dosy-doe in the middle of the ring and hit tandem charging clotheslines. Headbutts by Storm and Windsor. Storm grabs Mone by the tits, and Athena throws her down. Athena tells Mone to hold the ropes, Athena with a suicide dive that almost gets her killed against the announce table. Athena tells Mone to get it together, but Windsor from the apron with a cannonball to both women. PIP Break.
Something about science and peaches.
Windsor has been isolated as we return from break. Athena does strike Mone by accident (I assume), allowing Windsor to tag in Storm. Storm with a dropkick and Mongolian Chops! Eat your heart out, Tenzan! Jackknife pin by Storm for a two count. Windsor gets the tag, and Storm kicks Athena into a short arm lariat by Alex for a two count. Quick tag to Storm, Alex to the top, but Mone sends her to the floor. Jackknife by Athena, but Mone is not the legal woman. Lung blower and backstabber combination by Athena and Mone! Mone into the Mone Maker! Windsor breaks it up. Storm is not isolated in the opposite corner. Athena with boots to Storm, she tags in Mone. Both women put the boots to Storm’s throat. Athena charges in with a running forearm. Mone with the tag, but her Meteora hits the corner. Athena makes the tag. Storm counters Athena with a tornado DDT out of the opponent’s corner.
Athena gets the tag to Mone, and Storm springs to life and tags in Windsor. Alex with strikes, misdirection, and she hits a lariat to Mone. Russian Leg Sweep into a short lariat from Alex. Cover for a two count. Windsor sends Mone off and catches her with a Blue Thunder Bomb! Athena in to break it up. Storm looking for the Chicken Wing on Athena, but they end up on the arena floor. ATHENA WITH A PILEDRIVER ON STORM ONTO THE RING STEPS! Mone tags in Athena. Windsor knocks Athena off the apron, Mone tries the Mone Maker, but Windsor powers up and hits a Samoan Drop. Windsor looking Sharpshooter, but Aubrey tells her that Mone is not the legal woman. ATHENA FROM OUTTA NOWHERE WITH THE O-FACE FOR THE WIN!
WINNER: Mercedes Mone and Athena
TIME: 17:10
THOUGHTS: Windsor and Storm have become such a fun tag team within the women’s division. Athena and Mone had sneaky good chemistry, at least when there weren’t hilarious miscues between them. A good main event, and a good table setter for Sunday!
RATING: ***1/2
Post-match, Mone gets into the face of Persephone and shoves her title in her face, so the CMLL start shoves Mone to the floor. Windsor locks eyes with Persephone, Athena celebrates, and with that, we are done!
