Good evening friends! It’s Theo Sambus checking in tonight for your live coverage of NXT Stand & Deliver on 411. Stand & Deliver has been synonymous with Wrestlemania weekend for the black-and-white brand for the past 5 years, but this year it gets its own designated weekend, perhaps resulting in more eyes on the product due to less distractions from other events.

There is big-time potential from some of these match-ups on paper, and it feels like it’s one of those nights where anyone could grab that proverbial brass ring and make a name for themselves. We’ve got Johnny Gargano back in the NXT warzone to take on Myles Borne for the North American championship. Los Americanos challenge for the NXT Tag Team Titles after winning the number one contendership tournament earlier in the week. Sol Ruca and Zaria finally collide (and that was an awesome video package put together on this past week’s NXT TV) in what could be a real dark horse for the show. Jacy Jayne, Lola Vice and Kendal Grey face each other in a triple threat for the Women’s championship, while Blake Monroe looks to capture the belt she’s already stolen, the Women’s North American Championship, from its rightful owner, Tatum Paxley. Plus, it’s a star-filled fatal four-way in our main event, as Joe Hendry defends the NXT Championship against Ethan Page, Ricky Saints & Tony D’Angelo.

So how’s everyone doing tonight? I’ve just been trying to catch up on NJPW Sakura Genesis from earlier this morning…good LORD that Knockout Brothers vs TMDK match was a slice of tag team perfection. Highly, highly recommended.

Alrighty, time to get this show on the road. Up first, we have a 10-person tag on the Countdown show. LET’S ROLL!

Location: St Louis, MO

Venue: The Factory at The District

Commentators: Booker T & Vic Joseph

*Our Countdown show is underway, and we kick off proceedings tonight with the 10-person tag team match.

Shiloh Hill, Wren Sinclair, EK “Eli Knight” Prosper, and Hank & Tank vs. Birthright (Lexis King, Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo, Charlie Dempsey, Uriah Connors, and Arianna Grace

Everyone goes at it as Birthright enter the ring, Sincalir and Grace having a tussle before spilling to the floor, and Hill gets Connors in the corner as the bell rings. Connors is sent to the floor, and Stacks is thrown out on top of him as Hank & Tank get fired up. Connors with a flipping senton off the apron. King tags in, Dempsey too for a little double teaming. Birthright basically all tag each other in for some quadruple teaming but it doesn’t go well, and Wren Sinclair is tagged in. Facebuster to Grace, Cloak of Invisibility. Dempsey breaks up the following Cattle Mutilation submission. Pump kick from Grace misses. Prosper tags in, who goes to town on everyone, nice tornado DDT. Moonsault evasion, dropkick to the face and a belly to belly suplex on Stacks. He goes up top, gets shoved to the floor, and Dempsey pounces with a German on the floor. Connors with a running knee, Hank in to break it up. German! Sinclair takes it to Dempsey with chops and slaps…butterfly suplex! Jawbreaker from Grace. Black Hole Slam to Stacks! Hill in with a tilt-a-whirl, Dempsey attacks him from behind. EK PROSPER evades a lariat and moonsaults to the floor to take a bunch of peeps out! Dempsey gets squashed between Hank & Tank, and Shiloh Hill connects with the Whisper of the Beast for the 1, 2, 3.

Winners: Shiloh Hill, Wren Sinclair, EK Prosper, and Hank & Tank

Time: 6:22

Rating: **1/2 – Only enough time for brief snapshots of shine for these folks, but EK Prosper stood out with his crisp highspots. Surprised to see Dempsey taking the fall!

*With the Countdown show over, we now turn our attention to Stand & Deliver proper. NXT! NXT! NXT!

*TUDUM (for those of us on Netflix). Then, Now, Forever, Together. Vic Joseph welcomes us to the show…and here comes Mr NXT, HBK Shawn Michaels!

*Michaels grabs the mic and welcomes us once more. Tonight, championships will be decided…he pauses for the HBK chants. Rivalries will be decided, and NXT will take this place to a whole new level. First he wants to introduce international hip hop artist, Sexyy Red.

Sexyy Red heads down to the ring to join HBK. Michaels says if you ain’t down with Stand & Deliver, they got two words for ya. SUCK IT! OK, that achieved absolutely nothing but I imagine I’m not the target demographic for Sexyy Red.

*We shoot over to a video package hyping up tonight’s event. Ooooh we’re starting off with the Women’s triple threat, nice!

[NXT Women’s Championship – Triple Threat] Jacy Jayne (c) vs. Lola Vice vs. Kendal Grey

Jayne starts jaw-jacking at both opponents and shoves them, but they both target her with strikes and knock her to the outside. Grey looks for an arm-drag, can’t get it. Lovely bit of mat wrestling from Vice and Grey, Jayne back in for a double pin, kickout at 2. Grey is sent to the floor off of a rollup attempt, back to the apron and cartwheels to avoid a strike, double dropkick to Vice and Jayne. Grey controls the neck of Vice, Lola counters, Jayne sweeps the legs of Grey on the apron and sends her into the steel steps. Vice with a seated senton to take out Jayne!

In the ring, Lola delivers knees and kicks to the midsection, Jayne reverses with an armdrag. Backstabber by Jayne! Mounted punches, thrust kick to the side of the head and a senton connects, cover, 1, 2, no. Grey dives back in with a crossbody and gets a 2 count on Jayne. Gutbuster in response from Jayne, Vice comes in with a shining wizard. Grey gets dropkicked into the corner, squashing Vice behind her, and Jayne delivers a canonball to both women. Cover to Grey, 1, 2, no. Grey rolls her up, 2 count. Jayne with a biiig lariat! 1, 2, no. Vice on the apron, gets a leg grabbed by Lainey Reed for the distraction. Senton from the champ to Grey, and Jayne heads up to the top rope. Grey tries for an Angle Slam, Vice gets in under them for a powerbomb/modified Tower of Doom spot. Kicks from Lola Vice, rapid fire, tornado kicks to Jayne. HIP ATTACKS in each corner and Booker is having a fabulous time. GERMAN from Grey. Straps are down! Pump handle suplex, Germans now, but she eats a pump kick from Jayne, 1, 2, Vice breaks it up!

Jayne and Vice go back and forth now, trading strikes. Enziguri connects, as does Vice’s roundhouse, 1, 2, Grey breaks it up! Grey catches a kick from Vice, but Vice kicks with the other leg! Jayne drags Vice to the floor and kicks her from the apron. But she tweaks the ankle! Grey grabs the leg and rolls into an ankle lock! Rollup, 1, 2, nooo and Grey keeps the ankle lock applied! Vice in with a rear naked choke to Grey. Rollthrough, guillotine from Lola. Knockout knee from Jayne breaks that up. Grey with a flying armbar, Vice rolls into a cover for 2. BACKFIST from Lola but she knocks herself out of the ring. Jacy rolls the arm over, 1, 2, Lola puts Grey’s foot on the ropes!! Fatal Influence try to get involved so Wren Sinclair takes them out with a dive. Jayne nails a canonball off the apron to Vice. Grey is poised on the top rope, MOONSAULT to the floor! Grey rolls her back in the ring, DIVING DDT! 1, 2, Vice breaks it up again. Vice locks in a choke, Grey breaks it, Jayne with a big right hand. BACKFIST from Lola Vice! 1, 2, 3!

Winner and NEW NXT Women’s Champion: Lola Vice

Time: 16:15

Rating: ***3/4 – Fabulous work from all three here, that was fast paced from the get-go. Couple of lovely nearfalls in that one, and while I’m quickly becoming a big time Grey fan, Vice certainly earned her stripes for this win. Also of note…a LOT of black screen towards the end of that one, it seems like someone had a bit of a wardrobe malfunction. The team editing that one are going to be BUSY.

*Video package for Kali Armstrong from EVOLVE, who will be coming to NXT…soon!

[NXT Tag Team Championships] The Vanity Project (c) vs. Los Americanos (w/ El Grande Americano)

Haha El Grande was jibing to Vanity Project’s theme as they made their way to the ring. Bravo and Smokes get us started, atomic drop from Bravo and a couple of jabs. Los Americanos get hold of Smokes’ legs and crotch him on the ringpost. Baylor tags in, Rayo in too and he’s tranquilo in the ropes. Bravo holds Baylor upside down and Rayo kicks him swiftly in the gut. Bravo takes Smokes down from the apron, he recovers and tags in. Stomps to Bravo in the corner. Rayo in with a seated senton, shotgun dropkick, and double knees. Moonsault to Baylor! 1, 2, no. Baylor with a shot to the throat, Smokes with a blind tag and a spear through the ropes, 1, 2, no. Rayo with a sunset flip for a 2 count. Splash from Smokes, Baylor tags in, brainbuster over the knee connects and he covers for 2. Rayo comes back with a backdrop suplex, and he struggles to make the tag, denied. Smokes with a stomp, Baylor back in for the spinebuster/dropkick combo.

Rayo tries to battle back with strikes to both men and he makes the tag to Bravo, who dives in with a high crossbody. Flapjack, back body drop, Bravo is a one man wrecking crew. Ricky Smokes tags in and Vanity Project look for a double team but Bravo lifts both men up overhead and back body drops both of them! Spinning neckbreaker connects, tag to Rayo. Michinoku Driver with a dropkick, 1, 2, Baylor breaks it up. Rayo clotheslines Baylor to the floor, Smokes hits a twisting flatliner into the buckles. Suicide dive to Bravo! Baylor looks to undo the mask of Rayo, but Rayo counters with an enziguri. X-Plex, 1, 2, NO. El Grande slides a metal plate to Bravo, who sneaks it inside his mask. He gets kicked in the face though. Assisted suplex by VP, Rayo denies the pin attempt. Rayo with a powerbomb to Baylor on the apron, Smokes takes it to Rayo though. Bravo crotches Smokes on the top rope. Rayo with the hurracanrana, Bravo with the splash, Rayo with another splash, 1, 2, NO! Superkick from Rayo, Baylor with a little joint manipulation! Big left hand from Bravo, HUGE tope con hilo wipes Smokes out on the floor. Jackson Drake is taken out with a headbutt from El Grande, and he in turn eats a dive from VP. Smokes pushes Rayo to the floor. Bravo gets hit by Drake, reverse DDT into the double stomp, 1, 2, 3.

Winners and STILL NXT Tag Team Champions: Vanity Project

Time: 13:27

Rating: ***1/4 – The distractions and shenanigans towards the end took a little more attention than necessary, but there was solid work from these teams. This crowd is a tad lackluster unfortunately but they are biting on the bigger nearfalls at least.

*Shiloh Hill is excited about winning at his first Stand & Deliver, and Tatum Paxley congratulates him. Sexyy Red shows up, as does Ricky Saints, who thinks she shouldn’t hang out with weirdos like that, and once he wins the title again, she can hang out with a real VIP.

Sol Ruca vs. Zaria

Sol Ruca doesn’t mess around, charging to the ring as soon as her music hits, springboarding into the ring to take it to Zaria. Thrust kick knocks Zaria back, but Zaria capitalizes and tosses Ruca to the apron. Ruca boots Zaria to the floor, misses a rebound moonsault, and Zaria picks her up and drops Sol face-first on the steel steps. Back in the ring, a back body drop from Zaria keeps Ruca grounded. Kick to the midsection, Zaria lifts her up in a choke on the buckles, taking the full 5 count. Thrust kick to the midsection from Ruca. She dives with a crossbody, Zaria catches her, fallaway slam for a 2 count. Zaria grabs Sol by the throat, Ruca lands on her feet from another back body drop, connects with a stomp to the gut. Shotgun dropkick from Ruca, ohh huge knee to the face from Zaria! Release German suplex connects, but Sol leaps over a spear attempt. Zaria goes for the hanging choke again but eats a kick. Ruca leaps to the top rope for a hurracanrana. Both women crawl toward each other on their knees, trading right hands. To their feet now, kicks and more shots, slaps too. Uppercut! Sol with a back elbow, big German suplex. Ruca to the middle rope, dropkick connects and she kips up. Running knee is caught, Zaria gets her on the shoulders, they try a suplex-to-the-floor spot but it goes wrong as Ruca gets caught still in the ring. Zaria tumbles outside, and Ruca heads out after her. Back in the ring, Ruca looks for the Sol Snatcher but Zaria kicks her to prevent it. They battle onto the ramp, Ruca tries a springboard, goozled! Zaria thinks about a chokeslam, but no… SOL SNATCHER on the ramp!!

Zaria rises up, SPEARS her through the ropes back inside the ring. SOL SNATCHER! 1, 2, NOOOO! Zaria kicks out of the Sol Snatcher! 450 attempt, but Zaria with a SPEAR. F5, 1, 2, NO! Sol kicks out of the F5?! Zaria screams at Ruca, maybe looks to have some compassion but thinks twice, gets her on her shoulders and climbs the ropes…Ruca elbows her way out of it. Headbutts from Ruca…X-factor off the buckles! Another Sol Snatcher connects, 1, 2, 3!

Winner: Sol Ruca

Time: 13:07

Rating: ***1/4 – They gave Zaria a lot by having her kick out of basically 2 Sol Snatchers. Same goes for Ruca kicking out of the F5. They were looking for something epic, and I don’t know if it was down to the crowd but it didn’t earn that epic status, as the emotion wasn’t quite there. Ruca got the clean victory, but I could see them stretching this out further into a plunder-filled grudge match. Zaria will likely need something big to regain momentum after this.

*Lola Vice celebrates backstage, and Robert Stone says he’s proud of her. He says this Tuesday, the ring is hers, and he wants her to celebrate. Lola Vice has a little twerk-off with Sexyy Red.

*Video package for NXT on the CW.

[NXT North American Championship] Myles Borne (c) vs. Johnny Gargano (w/ Candice LeRae)

Feeling out process as the bell rings, with Borne just about out-wrestling Gargano. Borne goes to run the ropes, but Gargano has just flopped on the mat, face down. But he’s playing opossum, hurracanrana connects followed by a dropkick. Big Johnny Wrestling chants erupt. Gargano clotheslines Borne to the floor, kicks him away and hits a flipping senton off the apron. Borne manages to get Gargano up on his shoulders as if for an Angle Slam, and backs Gargano into the ringpost. Snap powerslam connects, Borne covers for 2. Capture suplex, 1, 2, no. Borne delivers some uppercuts to the back, and a backbreaker, bending Gargano back over his knee. Gargano fights him off, forearms and clotheslines connect. Gargano with an enziguri, and he hits the spear through the ropes for a 2 count.

Borne looks for the Angle slam again, countered. Borne sits him on the buckles, Gargano slips down and hits a Cheeky Nandos kick! He flips into a sunset flip bomb, 1, 2, no. Suicide dive takes Borne out on the outside. Back in, Gargano up top, Borne leaps up there, top rope powerslam!! 1, 2, NO. Both guys duke it out on their knees, to their feet, enziguri from Gargano. German by Borne, spin kick from Gargano, superman punch and an Ushi-goroshi by Borne! Gargano spills to the ramp, Borne takes a run up…LEAPING LARIAT over the top rope. Borne gets Gargano back in the ring, but Gargano catches him with Willow’s Bell! Slingshot DDT connects! 1, 2, NOOO. Thrust kick, looks for Gargano Escape but Borne Again connects, 1, 2, NO. Didn’t quite hit all of it so Johnny was able to escape. Borne looks for a Boston Crab, gets one locked in. He tries to turn him over, Gargano reverses into a cover for 2. Borne gets sent into the ropes, Candice hits him! Handful of tights from Gargano, 1, 2, NO. Gargano Escape locked in! Borne rolls over but Gargano keeps it locked. But somehow Borne makes it to the ropes. They battle out onto the apron, Borne gets him on his shoulders, Gargano escapes, goes for a DDT onto the steel but Borne punches him away. Slingshot Borne Again! He hits one more Borne Again, and that’s enough to pick up the 1, 2, 3.

Winner and STILL NXT North American Champion: Myles Borne

Time: 14:35

Rating: ***1/2 – Borne certainly held his own against Gargano and that’s a very decent victory he can add to his repertoire. They didn’t go too crazy with the ‘Gargano Takeover Main Event style’ so it wasn’t a finisher spamfest or anything; just good, solid back and forth action keeping us guessing in the closing minutes. Nice work.

*Post-match Dion Lennox arrives and smacks Borne in the back with a steel chair. He hits a modified Emerald Fusion onto the chair! Message sent.

*Sarah Schreiber speaks to Sol Ruca backstage about her win. Ruca thinks that was her hardest match yet but tonight she proved her point, and now it’s time to focus on championships. Izzi Dame arrives and wants to put her on notice, as she wants the same thing.

*We get a preview for a new Shawn Michaels documentary hitting Peacock on April 13th. Looks good, and Bret Hart has been interviewed for it so you know it’s going to be meme-worthy.

[NXT Women’s North American Championship] Tatum Paxley (c) vs. Blake Monroe

Paxley makes the first strike as the bell rings. She gets Monroe upside down all pretzled in a nice submission. Blake is brought over to the corner and placed into a tree of woe, where Paxley stomps away at her and hits a running crossbody. Cover, 1, 2, no. Monroe to the apron, hits the Stratusfaction to Paxley, sending her into the steel ramp. Paxley plays up that she may have separated her shoulder. Monroe takes no prisoners, tossing her back in the ring and covering for 2. Blake smells blood in the water and targets the arm and shoulder now. Diving dropkick from the second rope connects, Blake covers for another 2. Monroe toys with her opponent and hits a suplex for 2. Crossface applied! She twists the head of Paxley away from the arm too, adding extra pressure on the shoulder. Paxley escapes, and unloads with right hands. Enziguri! More right hands, shrugging off the damage I guess? She wrenches the arm of Monroe, leaping kick, and heads back in the ring to deliver a flipping leg drop for a 2 count. Kick to the arm from Blake, Slingblade connects, and Paxley comes back with a superkick. Both women are down, and they begin stomping away at each other’s shoulders. Kick to the side of the head, Paxley climbs the ropes, gets her legs swept, and now Monroe goes up top. Paxley hits another enziguri, superplex, rolls through into another suplex and then a sitout bomb, 1, 2, no. I guess Paxley is just completely ignoring the arm damage now? Cemetary Drive is blocked, and Blake hits a series of headbutts and an exploder.

Both women on the apron now, Monroe delivers a sunset flip powerbomb to the floor! Back inside the ring, a biiiig knee from the challenger connects, 1, 2, no. Blake rips off the turnbuckle padding on the middle and bottom buckles, but it’s a distraction as she grabs the title belt and whacks her with it. Death Valley Driver, 1, 2, NO. Blake sits Paxley on the top rope, heads up there with her but Paxley knocks her away. Another Stratusfaction attempt but Paxley lands on her feet. Rolling kick! Headbutt from Monroe and Paxley’s head hits the exposed buckle. Glamor Shot DDT, 1, 2, NO. Monroe goes for another, reversed into Cemetary Drive! 1, 2, 3.

Winner and STILL NXT Women’s North American Champion: Tatum Paxley

Time: 13:20

Rating: *** – Paxley had some VERY patchy and sporadic selling of the arm unfortunately, which stood out when it was such a focal point of the match. If you’re going to build a match around limbwork, you HAVE to follow through with the selling. That’s a real shame as this felt pretty heated otherwise, and they clearly have chemistry together.

*Darkstate are all very happy backstage thanks to Dion Lennox’s actions earlier. Well, almost all of them. They’re starting to think Lennox is out for himself. He hears them, and he should have told them about his plan. But he’s got a plan for all of them. This Tuesday, they show the world.

*Jasper Troy has words for Carver and Briggs. Briggs thinks he’s the best big man in NXT. He’ll keep egos in check. Carver says everyone else must be out of their damn mind. A triple threat is signed for this Tuesday – Troy vs Carver vs Briggs. Plus, the Men’s Speed Championship Tournament begins. Sol Ruca vs Izzi Dame is signed too.

*Tatum Paxley celebrates physically getting her title back with Hank & Tank, Shiloh Hill and EK Prosper. Vanity Project show up and think their celebration on Tuesday is going to be so much better. Blake Monroe walks past, and VP ask if they can do anything for her. Blake says, “You know what? There is something you can do”. They all walk off together. INTRIGUE!

[NXT Championship – Fatal Four-Way] Joe Hendry (c) vs. Ethan Page vs. Ricky Saints vs. Tony D’Angelo

Page and Saints immediately go for Hendry, then turn their attention to D’Angelo. Body slams by Joe and Tony, and they go back to back before turning to face each other. Goozles! But Page and Saints interrupt, only to get dropped. Hendry and D’Angelo go at it again, again Page and Saints get in the way. Twisting neckbreaker from Hendry, and now he tosses Page onto D’Angelo. Hendry with a stalling suplex to Saints, covers for 2. Firmena’s carry, avoided, Page with a big boot to the champ, and Saints helps him deliver a back suplex. Bit of double teaming on Hendry, and we get the Page/Saints pose-off. Hendry fights back, strikes to both men. Page and Saints want to finish him off, and they lift him for a double suplex, and both go for the cover, leading to a breakdown in communication. Page sends Saints over to take out D’Angelo, Page knocks Tony back with a kick and Page suplexes Saints on top of D’Angelo! Saints is livid but Page is desperate for the win. Confidence Breaker! Saints and Page cover Hendry together, but Hendry still kicks out at 2. Saints brings Hendry to the top rope, superplex connects, Page is ready for a splash…but SPLASHES SAINTS INSTEAD! He covers Hendry, 1, 2, no. Hendry pushes Page into a SPEAR from Saints! Tornado DDT shrugged off, spear from D’Angelo!

D’Angelo misses a spear in the corner, Death Valley Driver from Hendry takes him down. Ethan Page sweeps the legs of Hendry and drops the elbow. Page and Saints lock in a single leg crab each, and D’Angelo capitalizes with a double flipping facebuster. Back body drop to Page. D’Angelo clotheslines both men to the floor and turns his attention to Hendry, who he drops with a spinebuster. Saints and Page send him into the steel steps however. They move the steps closer to the announce table, Saints hits a Revolution DDT on the floor, and Page with a Twisted Grin for good measure. Saints and Page may be getting back on the same page but Hendry out of nowhere with the canonball drop! Hendry looks for Stading Ovation, Saints with a chopblock to put a stop to that. Double suplex attempt is thwarted, and Hendry suplexes both Saints and Page. Hendry with clotheslines to all three opponents now, tijeras to Page! Fallaway slam tosses D’Angelo, and now he catches Saints on a dive and fallaway slams him into Page on the apron. Fireman’s carry into a front slam, 1, 2, no. D’Angelo and Hendry exchange strikes, German to Hendry. Saints launched overhead with a toss, and a German to follow. Capture suplex to Page, 1, 2, Hendry breaks it up. DDT to D’Angelo, kip up from the champion. Standing Ovation to Saints but NO, SPEAR from D’Angelo blocks it! D’Angelo with another spear to Hendry, 1, 2, NOOO.

Saints has a chair now, chairshot to D’Angelo. One to Hendry is blocked by a goozle, but Saints hits the Revolution DDT onto the steel chair. 1, 2, Ethan Page breaks up the fall. Chairshot to the gut of Page, but Page flips Saints overhead to the floor. They get into a hockey fight, Saints is sent into the steps…powerslam through the upright announce desk covering. They climb the steps…D’Angelo appears from nowhere and takes them both out with a spear, sending them all crashing through the announce table. Back in the ring, Hendry catches D’Angelo with a knee. SPEAR. Dead to Rights on Hendry!! 1, 2, 3!!

Winner and NEW NXT Champion: Tony D’Angelo

Time: 16:01

Rating: ***1/2 – Well, I don’t know if anyone will be that wild about D’Angelo being champion, but it was certainly a championship-worthy performance from him here, looking better than I can remember from his past high profile matches. The Saints/Page dynamic was fun throughout and of course it led to their demise in spectacular fashion. I wonder if Hendry is main roster bound, as there’s not an awful lot for him to do without the NXT title.

*Hendry recovers in the corner as Tony D’Angelo hoists the title above his head in victory. And with a pretty lukewarm reception from the crowd, that marks the end of our broadcast. Good night everybody, thanks for joining us!
