NXT Universe! It’s the second day of the official work week, so that means that we have a brand-new episode of the Tuesday Night Delight! Emanating from the Mother Base, NXT will look to build off of the events of Vengeance Day, which took place this past Saturday.

In the main event of said show, Joe Hendry made his first successful defense of the World Heavyweight Title against former champion Ricky Saints, and so that sets the table for tonight’s tag team match, pitting the true best friends of Hendry and the new Men’s North American Champion Myles Borne against the team of Absolute Ego in Saints and Ethan Page.

Speed is the name of the game tonight, as we will have not one but two number one contender’s matches. On the women’s side of things, Wren Sinclair will face Thea Hail, with the winner going on to face Fallon Henley next week. On the men’s side of things, it’s more of the same, as former Champion Jasper Troy will look to get back to his title by defeating both Eli Knight (YEAH?) and Sean Legacy.

A reunion of sorts will also be in order, as Charlie Dempsey and Tavion Heights will look to get the No-Quarter Catch Crew back together for one night, as they take on The Birthright members Lexis King and Uriah Connors. Given that the group has been trying to recruit Dempsey for weeks on end, will a win by the former NQCC force them to back off, or is this reunion set up for sabotage?

In advance of the 3-way Women’s World Title Match next week, Sol Ruca will face Fatal Influence member Lainey Reid, as Reid has promised to take care of Sol before the title match can happen. All of this and, of course, so much more in store for us tonight!

So, how is everyone doing on this Tuesday evening? Nice weather we’re having over here, but it won’t last, as it’ll be back to the forties by Thursday. And I don’t mean the decade. Also, I’m for sure over the Flyers season. Losing 6-2 to the basement dwelling Rangers is not a good look, much less the other teams who are in the way between us and the Wildcard/Metropolitan playoff picture.

So, enough about me and enough about you, let’s get ready to chant the letters of N-X-T!

NXT

NXT is live from the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida! The Power Duo of Vic Joseph and Booker T will be on the call tonight!

THEN!

NOW!

FOREVER!

TOGETHER!

Video package of highlights from Vengeance Day opens the show.

AND NEW WOMEN’S NORTH AMERICAN CHAMPION!!!! Tatum Paxley is here to open the show! Tatum has a mic. She is our new Women’s North American Champion! For the longest time, I felt like I have been doing this all wrong. I was begging to be noticed, to be excepted, to force friendships, just to feel alone. I played with my dolls and wonders if this was all worth it. The losses, the self-doubt, if I should be a little less Tatum.

At Vengeance Day, it all became clear. I didn’t win the title because of the Culling, or because I got carried here, or because I got lucky, I won because of you! When I had any doubt, you told me to keep going. And now she stands here with something that she has been looking for, confidence! She wants to tell us something. She won the Women’s Title for The Culling, for Izzi. But she won the North American Title for us!

Tatum tells Izzi to go away, because she is here to interrupt. Izzi wants to show some footage, and it’s of Tatum’s humble beginnings in NXT. Izzi says wow, just wow! it’s truly inspiring how you have finally found yourself. She would be touched if it wasn’t so fake! My God Tatum, you haven’t changed at all! You keep trying to convince everyone that you still aren’t the same weirdo outcast that you were when you got here. You think beating me proves anything? It doesn’t, because you constantly change like a chameleon. Honestly, Izzi is impressed. But that loveable girl isn’t forever, the real Tatum will come out eventually. You will always be the girl trying to fit in. But Izzi wants her title back now!

Tatum backs up, only to find Shawn and Nico on the apron. Izzi puts Tatum in the face and hits a powerbomb.

Ethan Page is a sad panda in the back. Ricky Saints is here to bitch at him about costing him his Title match.

Ricky: Now we’re both naked.
Ethan: I didn’t need that visual.

Saints says that they can get back on track tonight in their tag team match. Because if Ricky pins Hendry, he’ll get another title shot. If Page pins Borne, he will get another title shot. They both lament being two-time champions. Page says every dynasty has a hiccup, but they are better than that.

Jasper Troy is causing faux pas’ destruction. The Men’s Speed #1 contenders match is up next!

COMMERCIALS!

Men’s Speed #1 Contender Match: Eli Knight vs. Sean Legacy vs. Jasper Troy

I’m assuming that this is still a 3-minute match. (EDIT: I was wrong, but no one ever said otherwise) Also, I’m guessing that Carver comes out and beats the shit out of Troy.

Troy goes to attack Legacy but Knight jumps on his back. Troy throws Knight across the ring. He picks up Legacy and then catches a flying Knight like a fair catch in football. He tries to hold both men before dropping Legacy on the mat and then drops Knight on top of Legacy.

Troy rams his knee into the face of Legacy for a bit before he smashes Knight in the opposite corner. Vic compares the Men’s Speed Title to Booker’s WCW title wins, which instantly invalidates his credentials. Knight starts to fight back with some strikes, but he eats a big boot to the face as Booker drops his load.

Troy losses Knight and eats SUPERKICKS from both Legacy and Knight. Troy eventually stumbles out of the ring like a drunken bar patron, and Knight goes after Legacy. Right like rain, here is Keanu Carver! He chokeslams Troy through the announce table, no I AM THE TABLE here, folks! Carver yells at Booker for a bit before starring at a ded Troy. We get a sudden cut to break.

Booker spends the break screaming about how bad Robert Stone is and how his life is in danger. I got to be honest, I’m more infatuated with his rant and Vic egging him on than I am the match itself. But for the record, Legacy has apparently turned heel as he slaps the skin off of Knight’s chest. He hits a PK but gets a two. THIS IS AWESOME chants, but I don’t think they mean the match lol.

Booker has apparently ripped his headset off because he is PO’d, according to Vic. Knight reverses Legacy and he gets a two off a springboard DDT. Legacy responds with chops, another PK, a frontal PK, and a standing moonsault all for just a two. Booker is back on his headset, and he’s cool now, apparently, as all the officials are checking on Troy at ring side.

Knight sends Legacy from the ring, and he takes off and wipes out Sean on the floor! He returns Sean to the ring and hits the corner kick moonsault for a two. Knight to the top, but Legacy rolls out of the way. Legacy misses a lariat, pump kick from Knight, but Legacy catches Knight with a big boot. Legacy scores a two off of a springboard reverse DDT! Both men trade hands in the middle of the ring. Enziguri from Knight, but an uppercut from Legacy.

Troy tries to get back into the ring, but Legacy hits a baseball slide. Undeterred, Troy re-enters the ring and he picks up Legacy and runs him across the ring. He smashes Legacy and Knight into one another in the corner. Troy picks them both up in the corner and hits a double Samoan Drop! Troy with a chokeslam to Knight! The pin, but Legacy breaks it up with a double stomp to the back!

Legacy avoids a lariat, but not the Blackhole Slam. Knight saves Legacy from that though, and Legacy with Sliced Bread. Knight from the top with a moonsault. Both men pin Troy, and Derek Sanders says both men are the winner. LOL, okay.
WINNER: Sean Legacy AND Eli Knight
TIME: 11:50
THOUGHTS: NGL, I was more interested in the Troy-Carver stuff and Booker losing his mind than I was the match. Knight and Legacy did kill it when they were one-on-one, but the ending was pretty damn stupid.
RATING: ***

Tatum Paxley is looking for Izzi Dame and the Culling in the back. She runs into Shiloh Hill, and Tatum says she needs to stop them before they leave. Hill says he can help with that, laughs like an idiot, and Tatum chases after him. Oh, no, we’re not…we’re not doing a romantic thing, are we?

We cut to The Birthright. Ariana says she defended her Knockouts Title last week. Yay. Lexis says it didn’t have to come to this and asks Uriah if he made the call. Connors says yep, he called his daddy! They walk off. That was a segment.

COMMERCIALS!

Charlie Dempsey and Tavion Heights are here post-break!

Lexis King and Uriah Connors vs. Charlie Dempsey and Tavion Heights

Connors and Dempsey to start this off. Both men struggle for control, Dempsey rolls Connors through and gets a two. Dempsey with arm control, but Connor FLIES over Dempsey. He can’t fly out of an arm drag and a submission, however.

Dempsey drags Connors to his corner and tags in Heights. Dempsey throws Connors into Heights, and he hits a side suplex for a two. Connors is able to get the tag to King, but Dempsey with a blind tag. Dempsey sweeps out the legs of King and pins him for a two. Connors gets the tag, but Dempsey kicks Connors away and grounds and pounds King. Connors attacks Dempsey from behind and he drags him to their corner.

King with the tag, and he holds Dempsey in place for Connors to hit a springboard splash. Dempsey fights them off and tags in Heights. Tavion runs through both Connors and King. He pins King, but Connors with the save. Dempsey is back, and he tackles King out of the ring. Heights with a SPEAR through the ropes!

Dempsey and Heights hug it out on the floor, but Dempsey sees someone up the ramp. It’s Willam Regal and Fit Finlay! Dempsey pulls Heights out of the ring and hits a German! Tavion is fed into the ring and King hits the Coronation and that’s game!
WINNERS: Lexis King and Uriah Connors
TIME: 4:35
THOUGHTS: All means to an end. The reunion of NQCC was clearly going to be a heel turn by Dempsey. It was cool seeing Regal and Finlay, though!
RATING: **3/4

Post-match, Dempsey looks at Regal and Finlay. He gets into the ring and lines up with the Birthright! World’s worst heel turns lol.

The Culling are walking in the back. They hear the sound of car horns going off, and they see their car is missing a tire lol. Robert Stone wants to know if Shiloh Hill did this, but he yells over top of the noise. Stone says he can’t hear him and they go inside, where Hill still yells lol. He hands Stone the jack and Stone goes out to the parking lot, leaving the Culling to assume HE was the one who did this lol.

The Don is walking, and we will hear from him next!

COMMERCIALS!

Tony D’Angelo is here post-break. Tony stares deep into the abyss that is hiding in the hard camera before he speaks. When he returned to NXT, he told us that he came back for two reasons. The first mission was DarkState, and Vengeance Day was a culmination of that. He doesn’t like Dion Lennox, but that man went out on his shield. He left DarkState how he left him: beaten, broken, and searching for answers.

And that brings him to his second mission. When he was out, he had a lot of time to reflect and think. He looked at the man in the mirror, and there was one thing that this man was incapable of achieving. And in that moment, I decided to bury that version of myself six feet under and prove that he is the toughest son of a bitch in NXT!

The second reason I came back is to win the NXT Championship. Now, Joe Hendry, you may be a sensation in NXT, and I got no issue with you. Listen, if this was me a year ago, I would say let’s sit down and break some bread. But that’s not me anymore. Joe, if I have to break your face, that’s what I will do. I’d like to say this is just business, but this is personal to me. Joe, this is your one warning, prepare yourself for my actions, because I will not be denied. Tony D’Angelo will be the next NXT Champion.

Sol Ruca is working out in the back. Lola Vice is here, and I can’t control myself ATM. Sol congratulates Lola on beating Kelani, and Lola says that Sol will win the Women’s Title. And then, they will face each other at Stand and Deliver. They booty bump, and suddenly, that’s the best segment of the year, hands down!

Lainey Reid and the rest of Fatal Influence are out next for her match with Sol next!

COMMERCIALS!

WrenQCC and Myles Borne are in the back. Myles says he doesn’t mean to be rude, but he wants to know where his tag team partner is. The girls say they know where he is, and they go to a fridge. They say his name and look in the fridge, but there is a cake there lol. Hendry shows up for real, and Borne wants to know where he was, they need to talk strategy. Borne wishes Wren good luck in her match tonight, and Wren says she has the need for speed. Apparently, Kendel has the need for cake, because she’s chewing through the cake as the girls leave. I think I lost it three times during this segment lol.

Sol Ruca makes her way to the ring, complete with an amalgamation of her WW2K26 entrance!

Sol Ruca vs. Lainey Reid

Early lock-up, and Sol takes Reid to the mat. Reid back to her feet and she applies a side headlock. It doesn’t last long, though, as she kips up and right out of it. She stretches out Reid on the mat and fakes a basement SUPERKICK, causing Reid to back off and regroup with the rest of FI.

Reid back in and she kicks Ruca in the gut and takes her down to the mat. Ruca escapes, but Reid with another headlock takeover and she grounds Ruca for a bit. Sol tries a leg scissors, but Reid escapes and hits a dropkick. Reid charges the corner, but like a fly ball, Ruca catches Reid and drops her with a side slam for a two.

Ruca stalks Reid to the corner and hits a monkey flip as we see the Best Bros getting ready in the back. Reid ends up on the floor, allowing Ruca to hit the Asai Moonsault! Jacy Jayne approaches Ruca, but Sol stops her in her tracks. Falloon Henley distracts the ref as Ruca rolls back into the ring. Reid with a leg drop and a count of two as we head out for break.

Reid remains in control during the break as she works over Ruca on the mat. She applies a Gory Special submission, Ruca escapes, but she has to kick out of a pin at two. Ruca fires back with a corner attack, shoving Reid face first into the corner. Reid charges in and ends up on the apron, but she rolls back into the ring. Ruca catches Reid off the ropes and hits an Electric Chair Drop.

Both ladies get to their feet and hands are traded. Sol switches gears and hits some flying clotheslines. Ruca to the middle rope and she hits a missile dropkick! Running knee strike from Ruca connects, but Reid kicks out at two. Ruca to the apron, her springboard misses, and Reid snatches up Sol for a Blue Thunder Bomb! The cover, but Ruca kicks out at two.

Reid looks for her earlier submission, but Ruca escapes and hits an X-Factor! Eat your heart out, X-Pac! Ruca gets a two off the pin. Sol whips Lainey into the corner, but Reid out the back and a rolling prawn hold for a two. Reid on the apron, she leaps back into the ring but right into a SUPERKICK! Sol Snatcher, no, Crucifix Bomb from Reid! Lainey misses the follow-up, and this time, Sol doesn’t miss the chance to snatch Reid’s Sol for the win!
WINNER: Sol Ruca
TIME: 12:55
THOUGHTS: Not for nothing and I know that both Jayne and Henley have titles, but Reid really looked good here, especially in the closing stretch. Sol wasn’t losing ahead of her title match next week, but Reid looked like a million dollars here.
RATING: ***3/4

Elio LeFleur, Sean Legacy, and Eli Knight are in Robert Stone’s office. Elio says he wanted to defend his title against one of these guys, and the Vanity Project are here. They make a joke about being able to go longer than three minutes, and at Stand and Deliver, they want the spotlight on them. Knight says that Stone will cook up something clutch, and Vanity Project leave. Stone says put a pin in the Speed Title, because he has an idea. And I’m guessing that idea will be Swipe Right against Knight and Legacy at S&D.

Wren is here for her need for speed!

COMMERCIALS!

The Progressive Spotlight focuses on Blake Monroe! Blake Howard wants to know what is next for The Glamour? She says that Jaida Parker brought out the hell in her, but she is now focused on Stand and Deliver. Tatum Paxley is here and she wants to know if anyone has seen Izzi. Both Blake and Blake say they haven’t and she leaves. Monroe tells Howard he will have to do something about his name because she owns that name, and that North American Title.

Women’s Speed Title Tourney Finals: Wren Sinclair vs. Thea Hail

Hail with a PK and a standing moonsault for a two straight away. Hail looking Kimora, but Wren fights her off. Running knee strike from Sinclair gets her a two. Sinclair drops Hail on her face, but Thea bounces back with a shoulder tackle, sending Wren to the floor.

Two minutes left, as Hail hits a tope suicida to Wren! Hail heads to the top, but the pool is empty. Wren rolls up Thea for a two. Thea turns that into another Kimora attempt, but Wren rolls through and she gets the Final Wrench applied! Hail taps out!
WINNER: Wren Sinclair
TIME: 1:55
THOUGHTS: Fun fast paced action. Which is a shame, because I really feel like this match between these two ladies deserved all of the time. Congratulations to Wren, though!
RATING: ***

Stone has a lot of the male roster in his office. He is creating a tag team tourney, with the winners getting a shot at Vanity Project at Stand and Deliver. He names the teams involved and they are as such:
Legacy/Knight
OTM
Hank and Tank
DarkState
Birthright

Stone may have said someone else, but I didn’t catch who he said. Saquon Shugars says they aren’t doing anything like that until they do something about OTM. Speaking of Bronco and Lucien they are here, and a fight breaks out between the teams. Abrupt cut to break is abrupt.

COMMERCIALS!

Blake Howard has Fatal Influence in the back. He says Stone will update us on the tag team situation in a bit, but he wants to know how they are feeling with so many targets on their back. Jacy says that she didn’t think she would miss Sarah Schriber, but he makes her miss Sarah lol. Jacy says WrestleMania season is unpredictable, and she names off WWE competitors who have won titles. Blake says don’t forget Izzi lost her title, and Jacy says she is done talking and passes him off to Falloon. Henley says she didn’t care who won between Wren and Thea, she would have beaten either one of them.

Speaking of Wren and Kendal (sans cake) they are here. Wren says that she will take the title from Falloon, and she won’t even need five minutes to beat her. Lainey Reid says they don’t have time for this and they leave.

We see The Culling walking in the back. Shawn and Nico get a bit ahead of Izzi, allowing Tatum to sneak in and she attacks Dame. They fight up against a garage door, as Spears and Nico pull Dame away from Paxley. Stone is here, and he says if they want to fight so bad, they can fight next week in Houston inside a steel cage! Well, it better be a SALAD Steel Cage, or else!

The Best Bros are here for the main event up next!

COMMERCIALS!

Blake Howard wants a word with Robert Stone in the back. OMG it just dawned on me that Howard sounds like Nawdwar lol. Stone runs down the matches that he has booked for next week’s show in Houston. He also says that, after what happened in his office and at Vengeance Day, OTM and DarkState are both out of the tag team tourney. Speaking of tag teams, Vanity Project are here. They thank Stone for allowing them to not compete for a couple of weeks, but Stone says they will be in six-man action next week against Knight, Legacy, and LeFleur!

Stone also has another announcement, but he wants Vic to handle it. Vic has a mic. He says that no one knows this, but Booker and himself were supposed to be an announce team for just three months, but they are going on three years now. Because they are in Houston next week, they are going to have Booker T appreciation night! I just, you know, hope that Keanu Carver doesn’t end it by killing him dead or anything.

Ethan Page and Ricky Saints vs. Joe Hendry and Myles Borne

Hendry and Saints will start us off. Hendry overpowers Saints from the word go and he tags in Borne. Hendry with a stalling vertical suplex, as Borne hits a dropkick. The pin, Saints is out at two. Page provides a distraction, allowing Saints to punch Borne in the mouth.

Page is in the match proper but Borne counters a Page suplex with one of his own for a two. Incensed, Page charges Borne into his own corner and rams him repeatedly in the corner. Page calls for Saints, and Ricky goes over to the table housing both the NXT and World Titles. He grabs the World Title, but he slides it right through the hands of Page and out of the ring. That’s what we call karma LOL! That’ll take us to our final break.

Page and Saints seem to have gotten back on the same page during the break. They are at least cordial at any rate. Borne manages to fight off both Ricky and Ethan and he looks to tag in Hendry, but Ricky pulls Hendry off the apron and to the floor. Page and Saints isolate Borne in their corner. Double necktie neck breaker leads to an assisted DDT from Saints. The cover, but Hendry shoves Page into the pile to make the save.

Borne finds himself in trouble, as Saints and Page hit the Power and the Glory! The cover but Borne kicks out at 2.5! Borne reverses Page’s offense with a reverse DDT and he FINALLY tags out. Hendry and Saints are in, but Hendry hits them both with equal opportunity. Fallaway Slams for both men and an Angle Slam to Saints, but Ricky kicks out at two.

Hendry looking Standing Ovation, but Page grabs Hendry by the feet. Hendry kicks him away and Hendry and Saints collide in the middle of the ring. Saints wants the Page to slide him a title and he does. The ref stops Page from using the title, allowing Hendry to roll up Saints for a two. There was a tag between Page and Saints, and it looks like there might be some dissention, but Borne is in and he hits a dropkick to send Saints from the ring.

In the confusion, Page hits the Twisted Grin on Hendry on the title belt still in the ring because the referee didn’t get rid of the title, and that’s a win for Absolute Ego!
WINNERS: Ethan Page and Ricky Saints
TIME: 11:05
THOUGHTS: A fun main event match. I’m glad that Page and Saints won because, had they lost, it would have discredited two obvious title contenders from possibly getting another shot at either title belt. Page winning here and pinning Hendry will continue a character arc where Saints will be jealous of Page.
RATING: ***1/2

Post-match, Page and Saints celebrate. Ricky looks like reality may have set in, but they still pose anyway. And with that, we are done!
