Hey kids! That’s right, it’s Steve Cook and I’m here with you for the latest edition of WWE NXT on the CW! I’ll be adding this to my current Raw & AAA duties until I get burnt out on writing, which based off my two-decade history at 411 could be any day now. Until then, we’ll all watch NXT together and have some fun. I’m a simple man, I see Lola Vice and I watch whatever she’s doing. Getting to write about it is a nice bonus!
If you already subscribe to the 411MANIA Wrestling Newsletter, earlier today you were e-mailed my thoughts about the New Day leaving WWE, Roman Reigns still kinda being part-time & WWE Superstars being asked to take 50% pay cuts. If you don’t already subscribe, you can do so now so you’ll get me in your inbox every Tuesday! Some people like having me in their box, what can I say?
If you’d like to chime in with your own thoughts on tonight’s show, feel free to join your fellow 411 Maniacs down in the comment section! As the legendary Larry Csonka always said: Have fun and don’t be a dick. When I’m not here you can catch me on social media from time to time. To be honest, e-mail is a better option and you can reach me at [email protected]. I’ll be more likely to respond there. Social media annoys me more than spam.
Then. Now. Forever. Together!
We’re in Orlando! Vic Joseph & Booker T are our hosts, and last Tuesday featured a seismic shift! Lizzy Rain, the guy previously known as EVIL, Tavion Heights, a large fan and others made their debuts!

He holds up a phone with a message from William Regal, who tells Birthright they will have a six-man tag team match next week and not to mess it up.
Vic & Booker talk about what happened to Tony D’Angelo last week. Tony now has challengers coming at him from all over the world. They throw it to a video featuring the man formerly known as EVIL. In his home country he’s defeated many competitors and won many titles, but the spirit of a warrior is never satisfied. NXT is the land of opportunity and this is his moment to strike. Tony sits at the top of NXT with the biggest prize, one he wants. He presented Tony with a proclamation. One day they will do battle for the NXT Championship, it is written in the rising sun. Naraku is his name, and he debuts next week. Maybe it’s NARAKU, I can’t say for sure.

After Jackson & friends celebrate in the aisleway, we go to a video package for Tristan Angels. He’s here to bring real class to this brand, he was born a seventh-generation sheep farmer but knew there was gold running through his veins. At 22 years of age his name has become linked with overachievement, and he’ll kick your favorite superstar’s ass. He has a sixth sense, compared to Myles Bourne’s four. He runs down Shiloh Hill, Hank, Tank and other popular wrestlers. Mr. England has officially arrived! This guy doesn’t seem especially likeable, he could do well here!
Next, we’ll hear from Zaria!
NXT Origins shows us early Rhea Ripley! She wasn’t getting anywhere being a fake version of herself. Becoming champion meant the world to her. The most important lesson she learned was to be the person she was meant to be. She learned about the business & who she is as a person. She wants to inspire the younger Superstars.
Zaria makes her way down to the ring with a darker look than I’m used to seeing from her. She looks like she’d fit in at a BDSM club, even more than usual. Some interesting face paint. NXT feels different. There’s a change in the air and it could be anyone’s game. For the first time, she’s standing in the middle of the Women’s division with no one holding her back. No dead weight, fake friend, now she realizes that this is how it always needed to be. Alone. She has a clear path to the NXT Women’s North American Championship. That title woke her up, it made her feel like it should be hers.
Tatum Paxley enters! She understands that the title fractured Zaria’s relationship with Sol, but it had nothing to do with her. Now Zaria’s trying to figure out who she is, it’s hard, she gets it. If Zaria was to come for her championship, it wouldn’t matter if she scorched the earth. She’s ended friendships and put people in caskets for this championship, that won’t end with her.
Lizzy Rain enters! NXT feels different, she’s the new blood in the locker room and she wants to join in on this bit of fun. Last week she was the talk of the town. The title is iconic, it’d be fitting to add some heavy metal to it.
Nikkita Lyons is here! Lizzy was the talk of the town, she got the Nikkita Lyons rub. All she hears is that the new flavor of the month is shooting way over her head. She’s seen girls like her come and go. Tatum says that if anyone wants a shot at this title they can, well, Nikkita cuts her off and says she isn’t done with Rain. Nikkita & Lizzy fight out of the ring, Tatum goes for the Cemetery Drive on Zaria, but Zaria fights out and hits the F-5! Zaria stands tall to end the segment.
Vanity Project meets Romeo Moreno, who is a new kid from Spain. Noam Dar appears and Jackson says he was a big deal ten years ago. Dar challenges Drake for next week. Myka Lockwood appears and says that they’re with her. Jackson confirms and says he’ll see Noam next week. Romeo is thrilled to meet Noam, who he’s looked up to for quite some time.
Tony D’Angelo gets attacked backstage by Kam Hendrix! Officials lead Kam off while Tony is down on the ground.
Rob Stone needs a headset, he tells the truck that the Tony/Kam match isn’t happening now, Tony’s still down and Kam has been kicked out of the building. He moves the mixed tag team match up to right now, it was supposed to be the main event!
Lola Vice & Mr. Iguana vs. Izzi Dame & Niko Vance: Vic asks Booker if he’s ever had his match moved up like this, apparently forgetting that Booker spent years in WCW, and also years on SmackDown with Teddy Long as General Manager. The Culling celebrate in the aisleway while Iguana checks on Lola.
Tavion is not happy about his match being cancelled. Myles Borne suggests it might be a good thing because now he has time to prepare. Tavion says he doesn’t need time. Rob Stone comes in and tells Tavion that Kam is gone and Tony still wants to wrestle tonight. They’ll be the main event. Stone tells Zaria that he booked a tag team match for her next week, teaming with Nikkita against Tatum & Lizzy. Zaria doesn’t want a tag team match, she’s done with that stuff, but Stone says that she’ll have to do it if she wants a title shot.

Booker T’s headset isn’t working, which will make Uncle Dave very happy.
Emily Agard is the newest member of the NXT announce team, and she’s been told to do a segment getting to know Keanu Carver as her first assignment. Keanu seems non-receptive. He doesn’t know her or the camera man, and he’s not talking to them. The camera is put down and Emily explains she’s been put in a tough situation and needs to come back with something. She asks what motivates him, he says money. He’s got a family to feed! Comments & fans aren’t paying his bills, he’s not trying to get clout or popularity. He’s got people to take care of and he doesn’t care who gets in the way. He told Shawn Michaels to give him a chance or cut him. If wrestling doesn’t work out, he’ll need to find something else.
