Josh Barnett is putting a halt to Bloodsport for the foreseeable future, as he announced at the latest such event on Friday. GCW presented Bloodsport XV on Friday. The show, part of this year’s The Collective, saw Nattie Neidhart take on Shayna Baszler and more.

The main event saw Barnett defeat Yuji Nagata. After the match, he cut a promo and talked about how Bloodsport has done everything they wanted to accomplish over the past seven years. He noted that he is shutting down the events “for the foreseeable future.” He thanked the audience and GCW’s Brett Lauderdale and said that he has his reasons, and perhaps someday it will return. You can see a clip of the announcement below.

The first Bloodsport under Barnett took place in April of 2019 with Barnett battling Minoru Suzuki in the main event. At its most frequent, Barnett held four events in 2024.
