Kazuchika Okada Retains International Title In Clockwork Carnage Qualifier On AEW Dynamite

Kazuchika Okada is still your AEW International Champion, retaining the title in a Clockwork Carnage qualifier on AEW Dynamite. Okada put his title on the line against Myron Reed on Wednesday night’s show in a match where the winner would also qualify for the World Championship match at AEW WrestleDream on Saturday.

Reed gave it his all in the match, coming on strong in the early moments with strikes before sending Okada to the floor. The champion then took over though and hit a backbreaker, controlling the action until Reed got a roll-up for two. Reed managed a nearfall with a Hang Five and Okada rolled out of the ring to slow his opponent’s momentum. The match continued on until the 11 minute mark when Okada escaped a 450 attempt by Reed, then hit the Rainmaker to win the match and retain his title.

You can see clips from the AEW Dynamite match below. Okada is now in the WrestleDream stipulation match along with Will Ospreay, Samoa Joe, Mike Bailey, Adam Copeland, and Konosuke Takeshita, with two more set to qualify tonight. Okada’s International Championship reign is now at 46 days, having won the title from Kyle Fletcher at AEW All In: London on August 30th.
