Former WWE Superstar and UFC Champion Ken Shamrock spoke to Rewind Recap Relive about WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle and what he thinks about their versions of the Ankle Lock Hold. Shamrock also discussed a hypothetical matchup between the two in the primes of their careers. Below are some highlights (via Fightful):
Ken Shamrock on his Ankle Lock compared to the Kurt Angle version: “Well, listen, I gotta say, Kurt Angle does a really good job at being able to do the entertainment ankle lock. But when it comes to the actual leg lock and the legitimacy of it, I don’t think you got to question that.”
On a hypothetical matchup with Kurt Angle in their primes: “A pro wrestling match, we’d have killed it. No doubt. He had an engine and a motor that was second to none, and I had the same thing. We would have put on a boy, especially if they’d let us go 40 minutes to an hour. Three fall. We would have been top speed for the whole 60 minutes.”
