During a WWE NXT VIP Experience, Ethan Page, Wren Sinclair, and Kendal Grey answered fan questions and discussed their careers. During the fan Q&A, recorded by Rock N Co Wrestling, Kendal Grey discussed what got her into pro wrestling.

According to Grey, she revealed she got into WWE through the NIL program after competing in amateur wrestling in college. She stated (via Fightful), “For me, I watched it as a kid, but I never thought that I could be a WWE superstar. So then I went off to college. I was an amateur wrestler in college.” She continued, “Then with the NIL program, with WWE, it kind of opened this opportunity up for me. But now that I’m in it, I can’t see myself doing anything else.”

At the recent NXT Deadline event, Kendal Grey won the women’s Iron Survivor Challenge match earlier this month. As a result, she will challenge Jacy Jayne for the NXT Women’s Championship.

The upcoming NXT Women’s Championship match will take place at the NXT New Year’s Evil special on Tuesday, January 6, 2026. The show will be held at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. It will be broadcast live on The CW starting at 8:00 pm ET.
