Kenny Omega Comments on Batman Using His Finishing Move in Absolute Batman
Batman takes a page out of the Kenny Omega playbook in the new issue of Absolute Batman Annual, which hit the shelves this week. The scene features Batman brutally defending an encampment living at the Slaughter Swamp who are about to be attacked by white supremacists.
The Batman of the Absolute DC Universe is a Batman from a much darker, parallel reality of the DC Multiverse. Thus, this variant of Batman is much darker, more brutal, and aggressive in his tactics, though he still appears to enforce a no-killing rule.
During the fight, Batman grabs one of the assailants and clearly lifts him and hits him with the One Winged Angel, the finishing move best known for AEW star Kenny Omega.
Kenny Omega commented on the comic book panels via social media, simply writing, “I’m Batman.” You can see the image in question and Omega’s reaction below:

Absolute Batman Continues AEW Crossover With Kenny Omega’s Finishing Move
Of course, Absolute Batman referencing AEW and Kenny Omega with the One Winged Angel isn’t the first AEW and DC Comics crossover, as both entities have collaborated before. In October 2024, DC Comics published AEW Special Edition #1, featuring the origin stories of six AEW stars.
Also, AEW announced a two-part comic book crossover featuring AEW and the Justice League earlier this month.
The two-part comic crossover will feature the Justice League meeting the wrestlers of AEW. The 48-page story will be written by Steve Orlando and illustrated by Travis Mercer, with Lucas Meyer handling the covers. Also, DC and AEW cross-promoted the DC KO event from Scott Snyder and Javier Fernandez on AEW’s shows, digital platforms, and social media.
Additionally, DC Comics will sponsor AEW Full Gear, which takes place at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey on November 22. The show airs live on pay-per-view, and it will also be available through HBO Max.
