Kyle Fletcher Recaptures TNT Championship On AEW Dynamite

Kyle Fletcher is once again the AEW TNT Champion, defeating Tommaso Ciampa for the title on this week’s AEW Dynamite. Wednesday night’s episode saw Ciampa put his championship on the line against Fletcher, who had challenged him on last week’s Collision.

Ciampa and Fletcher went just over 16 and a half minutes. While Ciampa had Fletcher nearly pinned on several occasions, the Protostar was able to counter a charge into a Michinoku Driver. He then hit a lariat and a Sheer Drop Brainbuster to capture the victory and the title. You can see highlights below.

After the match, Fletcher spoke with Renee Paquette in the ring and said that he would defend his new title at AEW Grand Slam Australia against anyone. That brought out Mark Briscoe, who congratulated Fletcher and said that they’re tied at three wins apiece in their series so he wanted to go for Best of Seven. Fletcher said the seventh match needed to be special so it would be a ladder match.

Fletcher is now a two-time TNT Champion, having lost the title to Briscoe (who in turn lost it to Ciampa). Ciampa’s reign ends at 11 days, having won it in his AEW debut match on the January 31st episode of AEW Collision.
