La Catalina Retains AAA Reina de Reinas Title On WWE NXT

La Catalina remains your AAA Reina de Reinas Champion, successfully defending the title against Kali Armstrong on this week’s WWE NXT. Tuesday night’s show saw Catalina put her championship on the line against Armstrong, a match set up to give Armstrong a title shot after she lost the NXT Women’s Championship #1 contenders battle royale to a sneaky Wren Sinclair on last week’s show.

Armstrong gave it her all and was competitive against Catalina, dominating early on. The champion fought back though after it went to the floor and hit a running senton off the ring steps. The match continued back and forth until Armstrong was sent over the top rope and landed on a section of exposed floor she had pulled up earlier. She made it back into the ring but ate a Busaiku Knee for the pinfall and title retention for Catalina.

You can see a clip from the WWE NXT match below. La Catalina has held the championship for 31 days; she won it at AAA TripleMania 34 night two by dethroning Flammer.
