-I have started my journey through 1989 and my review of the Jan Saturday Night’s Main Event can be found here. Now, it’s Main Event! Let’s get to it!

-Ric Flair’s WOOOOO is still in the show opening for those wondering.

-Announce Team: Byron Saxton and Wade Barrett
-Taped: American Airlines Arena, Dallas, TX

Katana Chance (w/ Kayden Carter) vs. Xia Li

-So, this would not be NXT vs. RAW, though Chance doesn’t get any chances on RAW, so this is kind of close. Li slams Chance face first on the mat and stands on her hair. Chance avoids by sliding under the legs and gets a sunset flip for two and then a roll-up for two. Side headlock from Chance and she gets shoved off, but floats over in the corner and gets a dropkick. Sling-shot Senton for Chance gets two! She gets put on the apron and tries to spring in, but Li catches her with a kick in mid-air that sends Chance to the floor. Carter checks on her before she gets back in the ring. Li catches her with another strike and then stomps away. Suplex from Li gets a two count. Another suplex variation sends Chance across the ring and Li gets two again. Bow and Arrow from Li as the crowd tries to get Chance back in the match. Li gets caught with an arm-drag and Chance lands a kick. She trips Li and hits a running forearm. She connects with a running clothesline in the corner and gets a sweet flip kick for two. Li ends up on the apron and Chance comes off the middle rope with a double stomp to the back of the neck for two. Crowd was digging that. Chance heads up, but Li moves and starts firing off strikes. She hits a spinning kick to get the pin at 5:36.

Winner: Xia Li via pin at 5:36
-This was fine and I actually want to see more from Chance with her crazy athletic ability. Li is getting a little push on RAW and we will see what she can do with it. **

-Back to RAW from a few weeks back where Judgment Day regain The Tag Titles from Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso.

-Hulu commercials!

-Back to SmackDown as we join Iyo Sky vs. Charlotte for the WWE Women’s Title in progress. Bayley gets involved and gets thrown over the announce table for her troubles. Cool finish as Iyo her Championship Belt to block a spear and that gets the win. Damage CTRL start to put the beats on Charlotte, but Bianca Belair returns to make the save.

-Back to RAW a week back as Seth Rollins and Drew McIntyre have verbal spat in the build to their World Title Match at Crown Jewel.

-Roman Reigns vs. LA Knight! Crown Jewel!

-Hulu commercials!

-Back to RAW as we join Drew McIntyre vs. Sami Zayn in progress. Seemed like a fantastic match based on what was shown here. Crowd enjoyed it! Rhea Ripley gets involved and Drew hits The Claymore.

-Later, Drew and Seth meet in the back. Each is suspicious of the other joining The Judgment Day. They both say they don’t need Judgment Day to win at Crown Jewel. This has vibes of Flair and Perfect playing Warrior and Savage against each other in 1992.

-Bad Bunny has his own edition of WWE2K23.

-Hulu commercials!

-This week on RAW: Rollins vs. JD McDonagh; DIY vs. Imperium; Ricochet vs. Prison Dom

Tyler Bate vs. Damon Kemp

-NXT vs. NXT! Kemp is one of my Level Up kids and it’s cool seeing him on Main Event. Lockup to start and they jockey position. Kemp offers a clean break but shoves Bate to play some mind games. Bate hooks an arm, but Kemp rolls out and uses his amateur background to reverse into a side headlock. Kemp breaks and runs Bate down with a shoulder. Bate back with a dropkick followed by a hip-toss and then into a side headlock on the mat. Bate grabs his foot and repeatedly rams it in Kemp’s head while holding the headlock. Cool! Kemp gets to his feet and lands a slam that has our announce team referencing Norman Smiley. We head to our break at 2:38.

-Logan Paul vs. Rey Mysterio! US Title! Crown Jewel!

-75 seconds of Hulu commercials!

-Back at 4:43 with Kemp holding a bear-hug and then gets a release overhead belly to belly suplex. He stomps Bate for a two count. Kemp grabs a waist lock as the crowd starts to rally Bate. Kemp tries another release suplex, but Bate lands on his feet. He avoids a charge in the corner and lands a suplex on Kemp. He comes off the middle rope with a European uppercut and tries the airplane spin, but Kemp escapes. Bate comes back with a rebound lariat and now we get the airplane spin into a slam for a two count. Crowd was buying into that move as you would expect. Tyler Driver 97 is blocked and then start trading blows in the corner. Kemp pulls Bate off the middle rope and hits a discus clothesline. Bate avoids a suplex and this time hits Tyler Driver 97 for the pin at 8:00.

Winner: Tyler Bate via pin at 8:00
-Solid as Bate is more than ready for the Main Roster and Kemp continues to come along nicely. **1/2

-Back to RAW as Cody Rhodes wants a fight with Damian Priest and it will be at Crown Jewel. Judgment Day attack and Pillmanize Cody’s ankle!

-SmackDown commercial! Reigns/Knight contract signing!

-Hulu commercials!

-Rundown of the card for Crown Jewel!

-Back to RAW for Damian Priest vs. Jey Uso joined in progress. Balor gets involved and that lets Priest get the win. Cody hobbles down to keep Judgment Day from breaking Jey’s ankle. Cody wants revenge on Priest, but Balor pulls him out to save him from a broken ankle.

-Thanks for reading!
