Leon Slater is the new TNA World Champion, winning the title from Nic Nemeth in the main event of TNA Bound For Glory. The headlining bout of Sunday’s PPV saw Nemeth put his title on the line against Slater, who invoked “Option C” to cash in his X-Division Championship at Lockdown for a shot at Nemeth.

The 18 minute-plus match pitted Nemeth’s prowess and veteran wits against Slater’s speed sand momentum in a back and forth battle. The end of the match saw Nemeth get a nearfall from a Danger Zone and as he went for it again, Slater countered into a Blue Thunder Bomb. Nemeth went to the floor but was dove on and tossed back into the ring. Slater hit a splash and then a Swanton 450 to get the pin and claim the title to end the show.

You can see clips from the TNA Bound For Glory match below. This marks Slater’s first TNA World Championship reign, and ends Nemeth’s second reign at 106 days. He defeated Mike Santana (now Cruz Montana in WWE) to win the title at TNA Slammiversary.
