Liv Morgan recently spoke about her work in Bad Lieutenant: Tokyo and how different it was from her work in WWE. Morgan co-stars in the Takashi Miike film, which premiered at TIFF in September and releases in Japan this week.

Morgan spoke with press at the Tokyo premiere of the film in a clip posted to the film’s Twitter account. She noted that there were elements that she was prepared for, but that the filming process was something she had to learn.

“You know, a lot of WWE is acting, and so I feel like there were a lot of the same tools between WWE and acting,” Morgan said (per Fightful). “It’s like all the same tools, but maybe just used differently, and so it was cool to use my WWE experience and see how that translated to film.”

She continued, “I feel like I was actually more comfortable and more prepared because of prior experience, but filming is like a completely different beast than what WWE is. So I feel like I learned a lot as well. I think that my background with the physicality of being a WWE superstar definitely translated and definitely helped me perform my best in the scene, and when you watch the film, I think you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about.”

Bad Lieutenant: Tokyo does not yet have a release date in the US, where Neon holds the distribution rights.
