Matt Makowski Says Bloodsport Matches Are Some Of His Favorites

Matt Makowski has competed in Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport, and he considers them some of his favorite bouts. Makowski spoke with Fightful’s Jeremy Lambert and Stephen Jensen on The Spotlight about competing for the promotion, noting that he’s most comfortable in those matches.

“They’re definitely some of my favorite matches,” Makowski said. “I feel most comfortable doing those types of matches. They can be a lot of fun. They are more physical than a regular match, but if you have two professionals that experience sparring in a controlled environment, that’s basically what you’re doing, it’s a controlled spar.”

He continued, “I wasn’t trying to knockout Simon Grimm [Simon Gotch], but I’m making real contact with my palm on his face. If you go back and watch it, the first one I threw was much quicker than he was expecting and I kind of caught him.”

Makowski is 2 – 1 in his tenure at Bloodsport to date.
